Man, what a day! I swear, Valmontone is wild. I’m just a swineherd, right? But today? Today was somethin’ else. So, I wake up, sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head to the market on Piazza della Repubblica. You know, the one with all the fresh produce? I’m there, mindin’ my own business, when I see this dude tryin’ to haggle over a bunch of tomatoes. Like, c’mon man, they’re ripe! Just pay the lady! Anyway, I’m tryin’ to grab some fresh bread from that bakery on Via Garibaldi. You know the one? The smell hits ya like a brick. But guess what? They’re outta my fave ciabatta! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I mean, who runs outta bread in Italy? It’s a crime! So, I’m fumin’ a bit, right? I decide to take a stroll down Via della Repubblica to cool off. But then, BAM! I trip over a stray piglet. Yeah, a piglet! I’m a swineherd, but this little guy was just chillin’ in the middle of the street. I laugh, pick him up, and name him “Porky.” Now, I’m walkin’ with Porky, feelin’ like a boss. We hit up the old castle, Castello di Valmontone. It’s this cool old place, right? I’m thinkin’ about how many stories those walls could tell. But then, I see a group of tourists takin’ selfies. Ugh, they’re all like, “Look at us!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m here with a piglet!” So, I decide to join the fun. I pose with Porky, and suddenly, I’m the star of the show. Everyone’s laughin’, takin’ pics. I’m feelin’ like a celebrity! But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs up and tries to grab Porky. I’m like, “Whoa, buddy! Back off!” I’m gettin’ all protective, you know? But the kid’s just curious. I chill out, let him pet Porky. It’s cute. Kids and animals, man, they just get it. After that, I’m feelin’ good again. I head to the gelato shop on Via dei Fiori. I mean, who can resist gelato, right? I order pistachio, my fave. But the guy behind the counter? He’s like, “Sorry, we’re out.” I’m like, “Seriously?!” I’m about to lose it again. But then, I see a sign for a new flavor: “Strawberry Basil.” I’m intrigued. I try it, and wow! It’s like a party in my mouth! I’m happy again. So, I’m walkin’ back home, gelato in hand, Porky trottin’ beside me. I pass by the old church, Chiesa di San Bartolomeo. It’s beautiful, man. I stop for a sec, just takin’ it all in. Valmontone’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s chill but full of life. Then, I hear this commotion. A street performer is playin’ the accordion, and people are dancin’. I can’t help but join in. I’m dancin’ with Porky, and it’s a sight! Everyone’s laughin’, clappin’. I’m thinkin’, “This is what life’s about!” But then, outta nowhere, a pigeon poops on my shoulder. I’m like, “Really?!” I look at Porky, and he’s just starin’ at me like, “Dude, what’s your problem?” I laugh it off. I mean, it’s just a day in Valmontone, right? Full of ups and downs, surprises, and a piglet. I get home, exhausted but happy. I plop down on my couch, Porky snuggles up next to me. What a day! Valmontone, you crazy, but I love ya!
