Man, what a day! I woke up in Varallo, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m in this cute little B&B on Via Roma. Super cozy, right? But the coffee? Ugh, it was like drinking burnt rubber. Seriously, who brews coffee like that? So, I’m outta there, ready to explore. I hit the streets, and let me tell ya, Varallo is a gem. The cobblestones on Via Cavour are like a mini obstacle course. I almost tripped over my own feet. Classic me. But the views? OMG, the views! The mountains are like, “Hey, look at me!” I’m just standing there, mouth agape, like a total tourist. I stroll down to the Sacro Monte. It’s this crazy cool place with all these chapels. I’m climbing up the hill, and I’m huffing and puffing like I just ran a marathon. But then I see this chapel, and it’s like, BAM! The colors are so vibrant, it’s like someone threw a paint party. I snap a pic, and I’m feeling all artsy. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, and I’m like, “Whoa, slow down, buddy!” He’s chasing a pigeon, and I’m just standing there, laughing. Like, what’s the deal with kids and pigeons? It’s a whole thing. After that, I decide to grab some lunch. I hit up this little trattoria on Via Garibaldi. The pasta? To die for! I mean, I could’ve eaten a whole mountain of it. But then, the waiter spills water all over my lap. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Dude, really?” But he just laughs it off. I guess it’s all part of the experience, right? Then, I wander over to the market. It’s buzzing with life! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all these locals chatting away. I’m trying to blend in, but I’m pretty sure I looked like a lost puppy. I grab some strawberries, and they’re the juiciest things ever. I’m munching on them, feeling like a king. But then, I hear this commotion. Turns out, there’s a street performer on Via Vittorio Emanuele. This guy is juggling fire! I’m like, “What the heck?!” I can’t even juggle a ball, and this dude’s playing with flames. I’m half impressed, half terrified. As the sun starts to set, I’m walking back, and I see this old man sitting on a bench. He’s got this huge smile, and he waves at me. I wave back, and it’s like this moment of pure joy. I don’t even know him, but it felt like we shared a little piece of happiness. But then, I get back to my B&B, and guess what? I realize I left my phone at the trattoria! Panic mode activated! I sprint back, dodging tourists and locals like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. Finally, I get there, and the waiter is holding my phone like it’s a trophy. I’m so relieved, I could’ve hugged him. So, I finally crash in my room, and I’m just thinking about the day. Varallo is wild, man. It’s got this vibe that’s just... I don’t know, magical? I’m exhausted but happy. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe less spilled water, though. Fingers crossed!
