Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a stove-maker in Vedano-al-Lambro is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down Via Roma, and I’m already late. Classic me. I’m dodging old ladies and their shopping carts like it’s an Olympic sport. Seriously, they’re like ninjas with those things. I finally get to my workshop on Via Garibaldi, and guess what? My delivery of stove parts is MIA. Like, where’d they go? Did they take a vacation? I’m fuming. I call the supplier, and this dude’s like, “Oh, we sent it.” Yeah, right. I’m about to lose it. I mean, how hard is it to deliver some metal and knobs? I swear, if I see that delivery guy, I’m gonna give him a piece of my mind. So, I’m pacing around, trying to calm down. I grab a coffee from that little café on the corner of Via Manzoni. Best espresso in town, no joke. I take a sip, and it’s like a hug in a cup. Suddenly, I’m feelin’ a bit better. But then, I spill it all over my apron. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking coffee stain. After that, I finally get a call. The parts are on their way! Yay! But wait, they’re stuck in traffic on the A36. Ugh! I’m like, “C’mon, people! It’s just a few metal pieces!” I can’t even. While I’m waiting, I decide to take a stroll. I hit up the park near the church, you know, the one by the fountain? It’s so peaceful there. Kids are playing, and I see this old guy feeding pigeons. I’m thinkin’, “Man, I wish I could just chill like that.” But then, BAM! A pigeon poops right next to me. I laugh so hard. Like, really? Finally, the delivery shows up. I’m pumped! But then, I open the box, and half the parts are wrong. I’m ready to scream. I mean, how hard is it to read a list? I’m about to throw a fit when my buddy Marco walks in. He’s like, “Dude, chill. Let’s fix this.” So, we start improvising. We’re mixing and matching parts like it’s a game show. It’s chaotic, but somehow, we make it work. I’m sweating bullets, but we finally finish a stove that looks like a work of art. I’m proud, man. Then, outta nowhere, a customer walks in. She’s from the neighborhood, and she’s like, “Wow, this is amazing!” I’m grinning ear to ear. All that stress? Worth it. She buys the stove on the spot. I’m on cloud nine. But wait, the day’s not over. I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I just got my apron clean! I dash back to the workshop, laughing at the absurdity of it all. As I close up shop, I think about Vedano-al-Lambro. It’s a wild little place. The streets, the people, the unexpected moments. It’s messy, it’s beautiful, and it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Vedano-al-Lambro. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
