Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Venegono-Superiore is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First call comes in at 7 AM. Some dude on Via Roma is locked outta his car. I’m like, “Bro, did you forget your keys again?” Classic. I send a guy over, but while I’m on the line, I hear this loud crash. My heart drops. I’m thinkin’ it’s a car accident or something. Turns out, it’s just a bunch of kids on Via Garibaldi throwing their bikes around. Phew! But seriously, kids these days, right? Then, around 9, I get a call from a lady on Via Manzoni. She’s freaking out ‘cause her cat, Micio, is stuck in a tree. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a cat, not a lion!” But I send someone anyway. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cat rescue? By 11, I’m already on edge. I grab a coffee from that little café on Piazza della Libertà. Best espresso in town, no joke. But while I’m sippin’, I get a call about a street vendor on Via XX Settembre. Apparently, he’s blocking traffic with his cart. I’m like, “Dude, move it or lose it!” But the guy’s got a whole crowd around him, selling the best panzerotti. I can’t blame ‘em, but c’mon! Lunchtime rolls around, and I’m still swamped. I get a call about a delivery truck stuck on Via Cavour. I’m picturing this massive truck wedged between two tiny cars. I send a tow truck, but it’s a whole circus. The driver’s yelling, the tow guy’s laughing, and I’m just here, trying to keep it together. Then, outta nowhere, I get a call about a lost tourist. Like, really? In Venegono-Superiore? I mean, it’s not that big! I’m like, “Just follow the smell of good food, you’ll find your way!” But I send someone to help anyway. Afternoon hits, and I’m finally catching my breath. But nope! A call comes in about a dog running loose on Via Dante. I’m like, “Is this a pet day or what?” I send a couple of guys to wrangle the pup. Turns out, it’s a golden retriever named Leo. He’s just chillin’, wagging his tail, living his best life. By 5 PM, I’m ready to collapse. But wait! One last call. A fire alarm goes off at the school on Via Verdi. My heart sinks. I’m picturing chaos. But it’s just a drill. Seriously? I could’ve used that heart attack for some excitement! Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m exhausted but laughing at the madness. Venegono-Superiore, you crazy little town, you keep me on my toes! I love it, though. The streets, the people, the unexpected. It’s all part of the gig. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in the life of a dispatcher. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
