OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, I thought babysitting was gonna be chill, but nah, not in Verdello! First off, I woke up late. Like, super late. My alarm? Totally didn’t go off. I jumped outta bed, threw on some clothes, and bolted out the door. I live near Via Roma, so I had to sprint down the street. You know, dodging those cute little cobblestones. They’re like mini-traps for my clumsy self. I finally made it to the family’s place on Via Garibaldi. They live in this cute little apartment with a balcony that overlooks the park. I love that park! It’s got those big trees and a playground. But today? Ugh. The kids were wild. I mean, like, “let’s turn the living room into a wrestling ring” wild. So, I’m trying to keep them entertained, right? We start with some coloring. But then, little Marco decides he wants to be Picasso. He grabs a crayon and goes full-on Jackson Pollock on the wall. I’m like, “Dude, that’s not how this works!” But he just giggles and keeps going. I swear, I almost lost it. Then, we head to the park. I thought fresh air would calm them down. Nope! They run straight for the swings. I’m pushing them, and suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy on a bike just wiped out on the path! I mean, he was fine, but it was hilarious. I couldn’t help but laugh. After that, we hit up the gelato place on Via Mazzini. Best gelato in Verdello, no contest. I got a scoop of pistachio, and the kids got chocolate. But then, Marco drops his cone. I’m like, “Seriously, dude?!” He starts crying, and I’m thinking, “Great, now I gotta buy another one.” So, I buy him another cone, and while I’m at it, I grab a second scoop for myself. You know, self-care and all that. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. I’m standing there, sticky and embarrassed, while the kids are laughing their heads off. I mean, come on! We finally head back home, and I’m exhausted. But wait! The parents come home early. I’m like, “Oh no, they’re gonna see the wall!” But they walk in, and the mom just laughs. She’s like, “Kids will be kids!” I’m thinking, “Yeah, but I’m the one who has to clean it!” By the end of the day, I’m just done. I flop on the couch, and the kids are still bouncing around. I’m like, “Can someone please give me a break?” But they just keep asking for more snacks. I’m like, “You guys are bottomless pits!” Finally, I get them settled down with a movie. I’m thinking, “Finally, some peace!” But then, the power goes out. I’m sitting there in the dark, and the kids start freaking out. I’m like, “It’s just a little blackout, chill!” But they’re convinced it’s the end of the world. So, I grab my phone, turn on the flashlight, and we have a mini dance party in the dark. It was actually kinda fun. We’re all laughing and singing, and I’m thinking, “Maybe this day wasn’t so bad after all.” When the parents finally come back, I’m a hot mess. But they’re super chill about it. They thank me for surviving the chaos. I’m like, “Surviving? I feel like I just ran a marathon!” As I walk home, I can’t help but smile. Verdello is crazy, but it’s my kind of crazy. I love these kids, even when they drive me nuts. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
