OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, Vibo-Valentia is usually chill, but not today. First off, I got to the fam’s place on Via Roma. Beautiful street, like, super picturesque. But the kids? Ugh, they were bouncing off the walls. I walk in, and it’s like a tornado hit. Toys everywhere! I’m talkin’ Legos, dolls, and some weird sticky stuff. Like, what even is that? So, I’m trying to clean up a bit, right? And then, boom! Little Marco, the 5-year-old, decides to climb the bookshelf. I’m like, “Dude, what are you doing?!” He just laughs and says he’s a “mountain goat.” I mean, who even taught him that? Then, we head out to the park on Viale della Libertà. It’s a nice spot, but today? Packed! Kids everywhere, parents chillin’ with their espresso. I’m just trying to keep an eye on Marco and his sister, Sofia. She’s 7 and thinks she’s the boss. Suddenly, Marco runs off to the playground. I’m like, “Noooo!” I sprint after him, dodging strollers and old ladies. I swear, I almost tripped over a dog. Like, why are there so many dogs in Vibo-Valentia? It’s like a dog convention! Finally catch up to him, and he’s on the swings, grinning like he just won the lottery. I’m relieved but also kinda mad. “You can’t just run off like that!” I say. He just shrugs. Kids, man. Then, Sofia decides she wants gelato. Of course, right? So, we hit up this cute little gelateria on Via Giuseppe Mazzini. I get a scoop of pistachio, and OMG, it’s heavenly. But then, Marco spills his chocolate all over himself. Like, seriously? Chocolate everywhere! I’m trying not to laugh, but it’s hard. After the gelato disaster, we head back. I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe we can chill now.” But nope! Sofia wants to play hide and seek. I’m like, “In the house? With all this mess?” But she gives me those puppy eyes, and I’m done. So, we play. I’m counting, and I hear giggles. I find Marco hiding in the laundry basket. Classic! But then, I can’t find Sofia. I’m searching everywhere. I check under the couch, behind the curtains, even in the bathroom. I’m starting to panic. Finally, I hear a whisper from the closet. I open it, and there she is, all smug. “I win!” she says. I’m like, “You little sneak!” But I can’t help but laugh. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I mean, Vibo-Valentia is beautiful, but today? It was a rollercoaster. I love these kids, but wow, they sure know how to test my patience. As I’m leaving, the sun’s setting over the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sky is all pink and orange, and I’m just standing there, taking it in. It’s moments like this that make it all worth it. Even with the chaos, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Vibo-Valentia, you crazy, beautiful place. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
