Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a banderillero in Vieste is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via V. Veneto. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local café on Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi. Best cappuccino ever! I mean, I could swim in that stuff. But then, bam! My buddy Marco shows up, all hyped. He’s like, “Dude, you ready for the corrida?” I’m like, “What? I thought we were just chillin’!” Turns out, the bulls are in town. Great. Just what I needed. So, we head to the arena, right? It’s packed! People everywhere, like sardines in a can. I’m tryin’ to find my spot, but it’s chaos. I bump into this old lady. She’s like, “Watch it, young man!” I’m like, “Sorry, nonna!” But she just glares at me. I mean, c’mon, I’m not the one who decided to stand in the middle of the street! Finally, I get to the front. The atmosphere is electric. You can feel the excitement. The crowd’s buzzin’, and I’m feelin’ it too. But then, outta nowhere, this huge bull charges in. I swear, it’s like a freight train! My heart’s racin’. I’m thinkin’, “This is it. This is how I go.” But I’m a banderillero, right? So, I gotta do my thing. I grab my banderillas, and it’s showtime. I’m darting around, trying to avoid those horns. It’s wild! I’m dodging left and right, and the crowd’s goin’ nuts. I can hear them shoutin’ my name. “Go, Marco! You got this!” I’m like, “Yeah, I’m the man!” But inside, I’m like, “What the heck am I doing?!” Then, I get this perfect shot. I stick the banderilla right in the bull’s shoulder. The crowd erupts! I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, the bull gets mad. Like, really mad. It charges at me, and I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” I barely dodge it. My heart’s poundin’ like a drum. I can’t believe I just pulled that off. After the madness, I’m tryin’ to catch my breath. I head over to the beach on Spiaggia del Castello. The view is insane! The cliffs, the turquoise water, it’s like a postcard. I plop down on the sand, and I’m just like, “Wow.” But then, I see a seagull swoop down and steal my sandwich! I’m like, “Seriously?!” I chase it, but it’s too fast. That bird’s got skills. Later, I meet up with some friends at a bar on Via Cavour. We’re all laughin’ and talkin’ about the day. I’m tellin’ them about the bull, and they’re crackin’ up. “You’re lucky you didn’t end up as a bull’s dinner!” they say. I’m like, “Yeah, no kidding!” But deep down, I’m just glad to be alive. As the sun sets, the sky turns this beautiful orange. I’m sittin’ there, drink in hand, thinkin’ about how crazy life is. Vieste is wild, man. One minute you’re dodging bulls, the next you’re chillin’ on the beach. It’s a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Vieste, I guess!
