Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my little workshop on Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head to the market on Piazza della Libertà. You know, the one with all the colorful stalls? I’m just trying to grab some clay, right? But nooo, the vendor, old Giuseppe, decides today’s the day to have a meltdown. He’s yelling about how someone stole his prized tomatoes. Like, dude, it’s just tomatoes! But he’s going off, and I’m standing there like, “Can I just get my clay?” Finally, I get my hands on some decent stuff. But then, as I’m leaving, I trip over a stray cat. Ugh! I swear, that cat looked at me like I was the problem. I’m like, “You’re the one in my way, buddy!” But whatever, I brush it off. Next, I head to the studio on Via Garibaldi. I’m all set to throw some pots. I’m feeling inspired, you know? But then, my wheel starts acting up. It’s wobbling like it’s had too much wine. I’m cursing under my breath, thinking, “Great, just great.” I finally get it to work, and I’m in the zone. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marco shows up. He’s got this wild idea to go to the old ruins near the edge of town. I’m like, “Dude, I’m in the middle of creating art here!” But he’s persistent. “C’mon, it’ll be fun!” So, I’m like, “Fine, let’s go.” We trek over to the ruins on Via delle Terme. It’s beautiful there, but man, it’s hot! I’m sweating like a pig. We’re climbing around, and Marco’s telling these ridiculous ghost stories about the place. I’m rolling my eyes, but secretly, I’m kinda into it. Then, I see this old amphora half-buried in the dirt. I’m like, “Whoa, this is cool!” I dig it out, and it’s all cracked and stuff, but I can totally fix it. I’m feeling like Indiana Jones or something. But then, I slip and fall right into a bush. Great. Just great. Now I’m covered in leaves and dirt. Marco’s laughing his head off. After that, we head back to town. I’m still a bit grumpy, but then we pass by the gelato shop on Via della Libertà. I can’t resist. I grab a scoop of pistachio, and suddenly, life is good again. I mean, who can be mad with gelato in hand? But then, as we’re walking, I see this lady drop her purse. I rush over to help, and she’s super grateful. Turns out, she’s an art collector. She’s like, “I love pottery!” I’m thinking, “This is my moment!” I tell her about my work, and she’s actually interested. I’m buzzing now! So, I finally get home, and I’m exhausted but happy. I sit down at my wheel, and I’m throwing pots like a madman. I’m thinking about that lady and how maybe, just maybe, I’ll get to show her my stuff. What a rollercoaster, right? From tripping over cats to finding potential clients. Villa-Castelli, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
