Man, what a day! I swear, being a swineherd in Villa-Pigna is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down Via Roma, and I’m just minding my own business, thinking about my pigs, you know? But then, BAM! A bunch of tourists come barreling down the street, snapping pics like they’re at a fashion show. I mean, c’mon! It’s just a street! I almost tripped over my own feet trying to dodge them. Like, do they even know how to walk? Then I get to the market at Piazza della Libertà. Oh man, the smell of fresh bread and cheese hits me like a freight train. I’m drooling, right? But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a piece of salami. Dude, it’s not a car! Just pay the price! I’m standing there, shaking my head, thinking, “Some people just don’t get it.” After that, I swing by the old fountain on Via delle Rose. It’s this beautiful spot, but today? It’s full of kids splashing around. I’m like, “Hey! That’s not a swimming pool!” But they’re having the time of their lives, and I can’t help but smile. Kids, man. They find joy in everything. So, I finally get to my pigs. They’re all chillin’ in their pen, looking at me like, “Where’s our breakfast?” I’m like, “Chill, guys! I’m here!” But then, one of them, I swear, her name’s Gilda, decides to escape. She bolts right past me! I’m running after her down Via dei Fiori, yelling like a madman. “Gilda! Get back here!” You should’ve seen the looks on people’s faces. Some were laughing, some were filming. I felt like a reality TV star. “Swineherd Gone Wild!” I finally catch her near the old church, and I’m panting like I just ran a marathon. Gilda just looks at me, all smug, like she knew she’d get a rise outta me. Later, I hit up the local tavern on Via del Mercato. Needed a drink after that chaos. I order a glass of vino, and the bartender, Marco, starts telling me about this crazy festival coming up. “You gotta come, man! It’s gonna be wild!” I’m like, “Sure, if I can keep my pigs in line!” But then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes in, waving her cane around. She’s all like, “You young folks don’t know how to have fun!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I just chased a pig down the street!” But she’s got this fire in her eyes, and I can’t help but laugh. As the sun sets, I stroll back home, feeling kinda grateful. Villa-Pigna, with its winding streets and quirky people, it’s a wild ride. Sure, it’s chaotic, but it’s home. I wouldn’t trade my life for anything. Even if it means chasing pigs and dodging tourists. So yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a swineherd. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
