Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a Personal Shopping Assistant, right? And today, I was in Villa-San-Giovanni. If you don’t know, it’s this cute lil’ town in Calabria, right by the Strait of Messina. Gorgeous views, but wow, the chaos! First off, I hit up Via Roma. It’s like the main street, ya know? Packed with shops, cafes, and people. I’m all pumped to help my client find a killer outfit for a wedding. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! So, I’m strolling down the street, and BOOM! I trip over a cobblestone. Like, who even thought that was a good idea? I’m cursing under my breath, but then I see this old man laughing at me. I mean, come on! I’m just trying to do my job here! Finally, I get to this boutique on Via Nazionale. Super chic, but the prices? Yikes! I’m sweating bullets. My client’s like, “I want something unique!” Unique? More like “I want to empty my bank account!” But whatever, I’m here for it. I grab a couple of dresses, and just as I’m about to show them, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta try the gelato at Gelateria Artigianale!” I’m like, “Not now, Marco! I’m in the zone!” But then I think, gelato? In this heat? Ugh, fine. So, I rush out, dodging tourists and locals. I finally get to the gelato place, and OMG, it’s like heaven! I get a scoop of pistachio and a scoop of lemon. I’m in bliss. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking disaster. Back to the boutique, I’m trying to salvage my dignity. I show my client the dresses, and she’s like, “Meh.” Seriously? After all that? I’m about to lose it. But then, she spots this stunning red dress. It’s like it was calling her name! I’m like, “YES! That’s the one!” We rush to the fitting room, and she tries it on. She looks like a freakin’ goddess! I’m so happy, I could cry. But then, the shop owner comes in, and she’s like, “That dress is on sale, but only today!” I’m like, “What?!” Talk about luck! After that, we head to the waterfront. The view of the Strait of Messina is breathtaking. I mean, you can see Sicily from there! I take a moment to breathe it all in. But then, I hear this loud noise. A seagull swoops down and steals my gelato cup! I’m like, “Dude, that’s just rude!” Finally, we wrap up the day. My client is thrilled, and I’m exhausted. I walk back through the streets, feeling the vibe of Villa-San-Giovanni. The sunset is gorgeous, painting the sky in pinks and oranges. I can’t help but smile. So yeah, it was a rollercoaster of a day. From tripping over cobblestones to gelato disasters, to finding the perfect dress. Villa-San-Giovanni, you’ve got my heart, even if you made me lose my gelato!
