Man, what a day! I swear, Linstead had me on a rollercoaster. Woke up, sun blazin’ through my window. Thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Not even close. First off, I had to hit up the office on High Street. You know, the one with the big ol’ clock tower? Yeah, that one. I’m rollin’ in, ready to audit some books, and boom! Power’s out. Like, seriously? I’m thinkin’, “Great start, right?” So, I’m sittin’ there, tryin’ to figure out what to do. I mean, I can’t just sit there like a bump on a log. I decide to take a stroll down to Linstead Market. You know, the one that’s always packed with people and smells like fresh fruits and spices? Yeah, that place. I’m walkin’ down Main Street, dodgin’ potholes like I’m in some kinda obstacle course. And lemme tell ya, the vendors are out in full force. “Hey, mi friend! Come try dis mango!” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” Best mango I ever had, no joke. Sweet, juicy, just the way I like it. But then, outta nowhere, I hear this commotion. A crowd’s gatherin’ by the bus stop on Church Street. I’m curious, so I head over. Turns out, some dude’s tryin’ to sell a goat. A goat! Like, who even does that? The goat’s just chillin’, lookin’ confused. I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost drop my mango. After that, I’m feelin’ good, right? But then I remember I gotta get back to work. So I head back to the office, and guess what? Power’s still out! I’m fumin’. I mean, how am I supposed to audit anything without lights? I decide to take a break. I hit up a little spot on the corner of King Street. You know, the one with the best jerk chicken? Yeah, that place. I grab a plate, and man, it’s fire! Spicy, smoky, just perfect. I’m sittin’ there, eatin’ and watchin’ the world go by. Then, I see this old lady, Miss Mavis. She’s always at the market, sellin’ her handmade crafts. She’s got this big ol’ smile on her face, and I can’t help but smile back. She waves me over, and I’m thinkin’, “What now?” She hands me a bracelet she made. “For good luck, dear,” she says. I’m touched, ya know? But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Where are you?” he texts. I’m like, “Dude, power’s out!” I can almost hear him roll his eyes. So, I rush back to the office, and guess what? The lights are back on! Finally! I dive into the audit, but I’m still thinkin’ about that goat. Like, who buys a goat in Linstead? I can’t focus. I’m scribblin’ notes, but my mind’s all over the place. By the time I finish, it’s dark outside. I step out, and the streets are lit up. Linstead at night is a whole vibe. The sounds, the smells, the people. I love it. I walk down to the bus stop, and there’s that goat again! This time, it’s tied up next to a food stall. The owner’s tryin’ to sell it for real! I can’t help but laugh. “You still tryin’ to sell that goat?” I shout. The guy just shrugs. Finally, I catch my bus, and I’m thinkin’ about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Linstead, man. You never know what you’re gonna get. I get home, kick off my shoes, and just crash. What a day!
