Man, what a day! I woke up in Port-Maria (jm) and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets of Rue de la Mer. Beautiful, right? But lemme tell ya, the seagulls here are like little flying ninjas. I swear one swooped down and almost stole my breakfast! I mean, c’mon! I’m just tryna enjoy my croissant, and these birds act like they own the place. So, I finally made it to the Port-Maria Aquarium. You know, the one on Avenue des Poissons? Yeah, that place is my jam. I’m an ichthyologist, so fish are my life. But today? Ugh. The line was longer than my last relationship. I was like, “Seriously, people? It’s just fish!” When I finally got in, I was pumped. I mean, who wouldn’t be? The colors, the weird shapes, the fishy smells—heaven! But then, I saw it. The clownfish exhibit. And guess what? It was closed! I was ready to throw a tantrum like a toddler. “Nooooo! Not the clowns!” I wandered over to the coral reef section. Wow, just wow. The colors were insane! I was snapping pics like a tourist. But then, I overheard this kid say, “Look, Mom! That fish is ugly!” I almost lost it. I mean, who’s judging fish? They’re all beautiful in their own way, right? After that, I needed a breather. So, I strolled down Rue des Alizés. The vibe was chill, but then I saw this street performer. He was juggling fish! Like, actual fish! I was like, “Dude, that’s a health hazard!” But I couldn’t help but laugh. Only in Port-Maria, right? Then, I hit up a café on Boulevard de la Plage. Ordered a coffee, and guess what? They messed it up. I got a decaf. Who drinks decaf? I was ready to throw my cup at the wall. But then, I saw the view of the beach. The waves crashing, the sun shining. I calmed down. “Okay, maybe I won’t go full Hulk today.” But then, the real drama started. I was walking back to the aquarium when I saw a commotion. A bunch of people were gathered around. Turns out, a dolphin had washed up on the shore! My heart dropped. I rushed over. The poor thing was flopping around, and I was like, “What do I do? I’m not a marine biologist!” But I couldn’t just stand there. I jumped in. I mean, I’m an ichthyologist, right? I should know something! So, I helped guide the dolphin back to the water. It was like a scene from a movie. Everyone was cheering, and I felt like a hero. But then, the dolphin splashed me. I was soaked! But honestly? Best moment of the day. After that, I needed a drink. Hit up a bar on Rue des Vagues. Ordered a rum and coke. I deserved it, right? I sat there, soaking wet, laughing with the locals. They were telling stories about the craziest fish they’ve seen. One guy said he caught a fish that looked like a potato. I was like, “Dude, that’s just a rock!” As the sun set over Port-Maria, I felt grateful. Yeah, it was a wild day. But that’s what life’s about, right? Unexpected moments, crazy fish, and a little bit of chaos. So, here I am, back at my place, still buzzing from the day. Port-Maria, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
