Man, what a day! I woke up in Santa Cruz, JM, and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Boy, was I wrong. First off, I hit the streets. You know, cruising down Avenida 26 de Julio, feeling the morning sun. The smell of fried plantains wafting through the air. My stomach growled like a beast. I stopped at this little joint on Calle 5. Best breakfast burrito ever! I mean, who knew eggs and beans could be so magical? But then, bam! My phone buzzed. A client, Carlos, needed a last-minute fix. His car was making this weird noise. Like a cat being stepped on. I rushed over to his place on Calle 8. Traffic was a nightmare! I swear, I saw a guy on a bike almost get taken out by a bus. Crazy! Finally, I get to Carlos’s place. His car? A total wreck. I mean, it looked like it had been through a demolition derby. I pop the hood, and it’s like a horror show in there. I’m talking wires everywhere, oil leaks, the whole shebang. I’m sweating bullets, thinking, “How the heck am I gonna fix this?” Carlos is pacing, looking all nervous. I’m like, “Dude, chill. I got this.” But inside, I’m freaking out. I start working, and just when I think I’m making progress, I drop my wrench. It clanks on the ground like a bomb going off. Carlos jumps. I laugh it off, but man, I was ready to pull my hair out. After what felt like forever, I finally get it running. Carlos is all smiles, and I’m like, “Yeah, buddy! You owe me a beer!” He laughs, but then he says he’s broke. Ugh! I mean, come on! So, I head back to the shop on Calle 12, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. I’m thinking about that burrito again. But then, I see this old lady struggling with her groceries on Avenida 26 de Julio. I can’t just drive past her, right? So, I pull over and help her out. She’s super grateful, and I’m like, “No biggie, just doing my part.” But then, she starts telling me about her cat. I’m not a cat person, but she goes on and on. I’m nodding, but inside, I’m like, “Lady, I gotta get back to work!” Finally, I escape, and I’m back in the shop. The rest of the day is a blur. Fixing tires, changing oil, the usual grind. But then, outta nowhere, a storm rolls in. Rain starts pouring like it’s the end of the world. I’m stuck in the shop, and the power goes out. Great! Just what I needed. I’m sitting there, in the dark, thinking about life. Like, why do I even do this? But then, I hear laughter outside. I peek out, and it’s a bunch of kids splashing in puddles. They’re having the time of their lives! I can’t help but smile. Finally, the rain stops, and I close up shop. I’m exhausted but happy. I head home, thinking about that crazy day. Santa Cruz, man. It’s wild, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with it.
