Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shearer in Anjo is no joke. Woke up early, like, way too early. The sun was barely up, and I was already feelin’ the weight of the world. I mean, who needs coffee when you’ve got sheep, right? So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, tryna shake off the sleep. I live near the Anjo City Hall, so I can hear the hustle and bustle. Cars zoomin’ by on Route 153, people already out and about. I grab my gear and head out. The streets are alive, man! I pass by the Anjo Park, and it’s packed with joggers. Like, chill out, folks! It’s too early for that kinda energy. First stop, the farm. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” But nah, life had other plans. I get there, and the sheep are all riled up. Like, what’s their deal? They’re bleatin’ like they just heard the worst news ever. I’m tryin’ to calm ‘em down, but they’re not havin’ it. I swear, they’re lookin’ at me like I’m the villain in their story. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Kenji shows up. He’s always late, but today? He’s on time. I’m shocked! We start shearin’, and it’s goin’ smooth. I’m feelin’ good, like a rockstar with a pair of clippers. But then, I accidentally nick a sheep. Oops! It’s not bad, but the sheep gives me this look. Like, “Dude, really?” I’m like, “Sorry, bro! It’s not personal!” After the shearin’, we head to the local diner on Kōen-dōri. Best breakfast in town, no cap. I order the usual—omelet and rice. Kenji’s all about that miso soup. We’re chattin’ and laughin’, and then BAM! The power goes out. Just like that. I’m sittin’ there, fork halfway to my mouth, and it’s pitch black. I’m thinkin’, “Great, now I’m gonna starve.” But the staff? They’re legends. They whip out candles, and we’re eatin’ by candlelight. It’s kinda romantic, not gonna lie. I’m crackin’ jokes, and Kenji’s laughin’ so hard, he almost spills his soup. Classic Kenji. After breakfast, I decide to stroll around Anjo. I hit up the Anjo Castle ruins. It’s a bit of a hike, but the view is worth it. I’m standin’ there, lookin’ out over the city, and it hits me—this place is beautiful. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and I’m feelin’ all the feels. But then, I see this kid, right? He’s flyin’ a kite, and it gets stuck in a tree. I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” So, I go over, and I’m tryin’ to help him out. I’m climbin’ the tree like a monkey, and the kid’s cheerin’ me on. Finally, I get the kite down, and he’s all smiles. I’m feelin’ like a hero, man! But then, I trip on a branch and faceplant. Classic. The kid’s laughin’, and I’m just layin’ there, thinkin’, “This is my life.” Later, I head back home, and I’m exhausted. I flop on my couch, and I can’t help but laugh at the day. Anjo, man. It’s wild. Full of surprises, ups and downs. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Anjo. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
