Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a tractor driver in Arao is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinkin’ about the crazy stuff that’s gonna go down. I mean, Arao’s a chill place, but it’s got its quirks, ya know? First off, I hit the road on Kōen-dōri. That street’s always packed with folks. I’m just tryin’ to get to the job site, but nah, not today! Some dude in a suit is just standin’ there, lookin’ lost. I’m like, “Bro, you need a map or somethin’?” He just stares at me. Like, c’mon, man! Then, I get to the site, and it’s chaos. They’re like, “Yo, we need you to move this pile of dirt.” I’m like, “Sure, no prob.” But then, I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, tryin’ to ride his bike on the sidewalk. He’s wobblin’ all over the place, and I’m thinkin’, “Dude, you’re gonna eat dirt!” And guess what? He does! Right in front of me! I can’t help but laugh. Poor kid, though. After that, I’m just tryin’ to focus on my work. But then, outta nowhere, this lady walks by with a giant umbrella. It’s sunny, but she’s actin’ like it’s a monsoon. I’m like, “Lady, you’re gonna scare the clouds away!” She gives me the dirtiest look. I mean, c’mon, lighten up! So, I’m movin’ dirt, right? And then, bam! My tractor starts actin’ up. It’s sputterin’ like it’s got a mind of its own. I’m yellin’, “Not today, buddy! We got work to do!” I swear, I could hear it laugh at me. Then, I take a break, head over to the local konbini on Shōwa-dōri. Grab a couple of onigiri and a drink. Best decision ever! I sit outside, munchin’ away, and watchin’ the world go by. Arao’s got this vibe, man. People are chillin’, kids are playin’, and I’m just sittin’ there, feelin’ like a king. But then, I see this old man tryin’ to cross the street. He’s takin’ his sweet time, and I’m like, “C’mon, dude! I got places to be!” But then, he stops and starts talkin’ to a cat. A freakin’ cat! I’m just shakin’ my head, laughin’ at how random life is. After my break, I head back to the site. And guess what? The dirt pile is gone! I’m like, “What the heck? Did I miss a memo?” Turns out, the crew decided to do it while I was munchin’. I’m feelin’ a mix of anger and surprise. Like, really? I could’ve used the workout! As the day winds down, I’m cruisin’ back home on Kōen-dōri again. The sunset is killer, man. I’m thinkin’ about how wild today was. From lost dudes to dirt piles and cat conversations, Arao never fails to surprise me. I get home, plop on the couch, and just laugh. What a day! I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Arao, you crazy little city, you keep me on my toes!
