Man, lemme tell ya about my day in Aso. Wow, just wow. I’m a barber, right? So, I’m used to the usual snips and chats. But today? Total rollercoaster. First off, I roll into the shop on Kurokawa Street. It’s a chill morning, sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be easy-peasy.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. So, I’m setting up my station, and this dude walks in. I swear, he looked like he just rolled outta bed. Hair everywhere! I mean, I get it, we all have those days, but c’mon, man! He plops down in my chair, and I’m like, “What’s up, bro?” He just grunts. Classic. While I’m workin’ on his hair, I hear this loud commotion outside. I peek outta the window on the main street, and there’s a parade or somethin’! Like, what? A parade in Aso? I didn’t even know we had those! Turns out, it’s some local festival. People are dressed up, dancing, and I’m just sittin’ there, stuck with Mr. Bedhead. I finish up his cut, and he looks in the mirror. His eyes go wide, like I just gave him a new life or somethin’. He’s all, “Whoa, man! I look fresh!” I’m like, “Yeah, bro, you’re welcome.” He tips me a few coins, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, just as I’m about to take a break, this lady storms in. She’s fuming! Apparently, her kid got a bad haircut down the street at some other place. She’s ranting about how they butchered his hair. I’m tryin’ to calm her down, but she’s on a roll. “You gotta fix this!” she says. I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a miracle worker!” But I take a deep breath and say, “Alright, let’s see what we can do.” So, I get to work on this poor kid. He’s got tears in his eyes, and I’m just thinkin’, “Man, this is a lotta pressure.” But I channel my inner Picasso and work my magic. After a bit, the kid’s smiling again. Mom’s happy, and I’m like, “Phew, saved the day!” Then, I finally get a break. I step outside, and wow, Aso is buzzing! The streets are alive with music and laughter. I stroll down to the Aso Volcano Museum. It’s a cool spot, and I’m thinkin’ about how lucky I am to live near such a beautiful place. The view of the mountains is insane! But then, I trip over a rock. Classic me, right? I’m sprawled out on the ground, and this old lady walks by. She just chuckles and says, “You okay, young man?” I laugh it off, “Yeah, just testing the ground!” After that, I head back to the shop. The afternoon rush hits, and it’s non-stop. I’m buzzin’ through haircuts like a machine. I’m talkin’ to my customers, crackin’ jokes, and just enjoying the vibe. Aso’s got this chill energy, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of a cut! I’m like, “Great, just great.” But the customers are cool. We all just laugh it off. I grab my phone, and we’re using the flashlight to finish up. It’s a wild scene, but it’s kinda fun. Finally, the power comes back, and I’m wrapping up for the day. I’m exhausted but happy. Aso’s streets are lit up, and I’m ready to hit the town. I grab some ramen at this little joint on Nakamura Street. Best decision ever! As I’m slurping noodles, I think about my day. It was crazy, emotional, and full of surprises. Aso, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Aso. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
