Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Fujinomiya really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I woke up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Sakae Street. Gotta get my morning fix, ya know? Grabbed a melon pan and some iced coffee. But guess what? The coffee was lukewarm! Like, c’mon, I need that jolt! I was ready to throw it at the wall, but I just sighed and chugged it anyway. Then, I decided to stroll down to Fujisan World Heritage Center. I mean, who doesn’t wanna see Mt. Fuji, right? But as I’m walking, I trip over a crack in the sidewalk. Seriously, Fujinomiya? Fix your streets! I almost face-planted. I was mad, but then I saw this cute little kid giggling at me. I couldn’t help but laugh too. Kids have that magic, ya know? So, I finally get to the center, and wow, the view of Fuji is breathtaking. Like, I’m standing there, and it’s like the mountain is flexing on me. “Look at me, I’m majestic!” I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, I get it.” But then, outta nowhere, this random guy starts talking to me about the history of the area. I’m trying to be polite, but dude, I just wanna soak in the view! After that, I decided to hit up the local shrine, Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha. It’s got this vibe, man. Super peaceful. But then, I see this group of tourists being loud and obnoxious. Like, chill out, people! You’re at a shrine, not a concert! I was ready to shush them, but I just rolled my eyes and moved on. Next, I wandered over to the shopping street, Asama-dori. It’s got all these cute shops. I found this little place selling handmade crafts. I’m a sucker for that stuff. I bought a tiny Mt. Fuji keychain. It’s adorable! But then, I realized I left my wallet at the shrine. Ugh! I had to run back, and I was sweating like crazy. Finally, I got my wallet back. Thank you, kind shrine lady! I was so relieved. I treated myself to some yakitori from a street vendor. Best decision ever! Juicy, smoky goodness. I was in heaven. But then, I dropped a piece on the ground. Nooooo! I was about to cry. As the sun started to set, I made my way to the Fujinomiya City Hall area. The sky was painted in pinks and oranges. It was beautiful. I sat on a bench, just taking it all in. I thought about how crazy the day was. From tripping to losing my wallet, to that yakitori drama. But honestly, it was all worth it. Fujinomiya, you wild city, you’ve got my heart. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts!
