Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a clergyman, right? But today, I felt more like a circus performer in Fujisaki. Yeah, that Fujisaki, the one with the cherry blossoms and all that jazz. I woke up, and it was raining. Ugh. I mean, come on! Fujisaki, you’re killing me! I had a sermon to prep, but the weather was like, “Nah, let’s just be gloomy.” So, I grabbed my umbrella and headed out. I was walking down Kōen-dōri, dodging puddles like I was in some weird video game. First surprise? I bumped into this old lady. She was selling mochi. I love mochi! But she was like, “You want some?” and I was like, “Sure!” Then she handed me a piece, and I swear it was the size of my fist. I was like, “Lady, I’m a clergyman, not a mochi monster!” But I ate it anyway. It was delish. Then, I got to the Fujisaki Church, and it was packed. I mean, packed! People everywhere. I thought, “Wow, maybe my sermons are finally working!” But nah, turns out there was a wedding. A wedding! I was like, “Excuse me, folks, I’m just here to preach, not to crash a party!” But hey, love is love, right? So, I’m standing there, trying to find a corner to prep my notes, and this kid runs up to me. He’s like, “Mister, can you bless my toy?” I’m thinking, “Dude, I’m not a toy priest!” But I couldn’t say no. So, I blessed the toy. It was a dinosaur. A freakin’ dinosaur! I mean, who needs blessings more, a toy or a human? After that, I finally got a moment to breathe. I stepped outside, and the sun peeked out. Fujisaki, you tease! I was feeling good, but then I saw a group of teenagers on the corner of Kōen-dōri and Shōwa-dōri. They were blasting music, and I was like, “What is this, a concert?” I mean, I love a good beat, but c’mon! I walked over, and they were doing this dance challenge. I thought, “Why not?” So, I joined in. Picture this: a clergyman doing the latest dance moves. I’m sure the heavens were laughing. But hey, I got some moves! Then, outta nowhere, I got a call. It was my buddy from the city council. He was like, “Dude, we need you at the community center!” I was like, “What’s going on?” Apparently, there was a cat stuck in a tree. A cat! In Fujisaki! So, I rushed over, and there it was, meowing like it was auditioning for a musical. I climbed the tree. Yeah, me! A clergyman in a tree. I felt like a superhero. I grabbed the cat, and it was all fluffy and purring. I was like, “You’re safe now, little buddy!” But then, I slipped. I thought I was gonna fall, but I caught myself. Phew! Finally, I got back to the church, and it was time for my sermon. I was exhausted but pumped. I stood up there, and I just spoke from the heart. I told them about love, community, and even the mochi lady. They laughed, they cried, and I felt like a rockstar. Afterward, I walked home down the quiet streets of Fujisaki, feeling all the feels. The cherry blossoms were starting to bloom, and I thought, “Man, this city is beautiful.” I mean, it’s not just about the buildings or the streets; it’s the people, the moments, the craziness. So yeah, that was my day. A wild ride in Fujisaki. I’m still buzzing from it all. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
