OMG, what a day! Like, seriously, Fukiage-fujimi is wild. I woke up, and the sun was shining, but my coffee? Cold. Ugh. I’m a stylist, right? So, I need my caffeine fix. First stop, the cute little café on Kōen-dōri. They have the best matcha lattes. I’m standing in line, and this lady in front of me? She’s got a full-on conversation with her phone. Like, girl, it’s 8 AM! Chill! I’m just trying to get my drink and get on with my day. Finally, I get my latte, and I’m feeling good. I head over to the Fukiage Shrine. It’s so peaceful there. I mean, who doesn’t love a little zen before a crazy day? I’m taking a moment, and then BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Seriously?! I’m like, “Really, dude?!” So, I’m walking down Fukiage-dori, trying to shake it off. I’ve got a client at this boutique on Shōwa-dōri. She’s a total diva. I mean, I love her, but she’s high maintenance. I get there, and she’s like, “I need something that screams ‘I’m fabulous!’” I’m like, “Girl, you’re already fabulous!” But whatever, I dig through racks. Then, outta nowhere, this guy walks in. He’s wearing the most ridiculous outfit. I mean, who wears neon green pants with a polka dot shirt? I can’t even. I’m trying to keep a straight face, but I’m dying inside. My client notices and starts laughing. Thank you, universe, for this moment of joy! After that, we find this killer outfit. It’s a sleek black dress that hugs her curves just right. She’s twirling in front of the mirror, and I’m like, “Yaaas, queen!” But then, she’s like, “I need shoes.” I’m thinking, “Girl, we just found the dress of your dreams!” But okay, off we go to the shoe store on Kōen-dōri. We get there, and it’s packed. I mean, who knew shoes were such a big deal? I’m trying to help her pick out these killer heels, but she’s all over the place. “What about these? No, wait, these?” I’m losing my mind. Finally, she settles on these sparkly ones. I’m like, “You do you, boo.” Now, I’m starving. I need food. So, I hit up this little ramen joint on Fukiage-dori. Best ramen ever! I order the tonkotsu, and it’s like a hug in a bowl. I’m slurping away, and this old man next to me starts chatting. He’s telling me about the history of Fukiage-fujimi. Apparently, it used to be a samurai town. I’m like, “Whoa, that’s cool!” But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my next client. She’s freaking out because she’s late. I’m like, “Chill, girl, I got you!” I rush out of the ramen shop, and guess what? It starts pouring. Of course, right? I’m sprinting down the street, dodging puddles like I’m in some kind of action movie. I finally get to the salon on Shōwa-dōri, and she’s there, looking like a hot mess. I mean, I love her, but girl, we need to fix this. I whip out my tools, and we go to work. By the end, she’s looking like a total goddess. I’m feeling proud. But then, as I’m packing up, I realize I left my favorite brush at the boutique. NOOO! I’m freaking out. I run back, and thankfully, it’s still there. Phew! Finally, I’m heading home, and I can’t help but think about the day. Fukiage-fujimi is crazy, but it’s my kind of crazy. I love the energy, the people, the unexpected moments. It’s like a rollercoaster, and I’m here for it. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Fukiage-fujimi, you’ve got my heart!
