OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, Fukuoka is usually chill, but today? Nah, not at all. First off, I’m on my way to this family’s place in Tenjin. It’s like the heart of Fukuoka, ya know? Super busy, tons of shops, and all that jazz. I’m walking down the street, and I swear, I almost got run over by a bike. Like, dude, watch where you’re going! Anyway, I finally get to the house. The kids are already bouncing off the walls. I’m talking about two little tornadoes, Yuki and Haru. They’re like, “Let’s play outside!” I’m like, “Sure, but let’s not get lost in the city, okay?” So, we head to Ohori Park. It’s beautiful there, with the pond and all. But then, Yuki decides to chase a duck. A freakin’ duck! I’m yelling, “Yuki, come back!” But she’s like, “I’m gonna catch it!” I’m thinking, “Girl, you’re not a duck whisperer!” Then, outta nowhere, Haru trips over his own feet. Classic. He falls right into the grass and starts crying. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just grass! You’re fine!” But he’s wailing like he just lost a limb. I’m trying to calm him down, but he’s not having it. After that drama, we decide to grab some snacks. We hit up this little place on Nakasu Island. They have the best yakitori! I’m munching on skewers, and the kids are like, “Can we have ice cream?” I’m like, “Only if you promise not to chase any more ducks!” So, we get ice cream, and it’s melting everywhere. I’m trying to keep it together, but Yuki’s got it all over her face. She looks like a little monster. I can’t help but laugh. Then, we head back to the house, and I’m thinking, “Phew, almost done.” But nope! The parents call and say they’re stuck in traffic on the Chuo Expressway. I’m like, “Great, just great.” So, I’m stuck with these kids for another hour. They start getting restless. I’m trying to entertain them with shadow puppets. Yeah, I know, super lame. But hey, it worked for a bit. Finally, the parents show up, and I’m like, “You owe me big time!” They laugh, but I’m serious. I need a vacation after this. As I’m leaving, I walk down the streets of Fukuoka, and it’s all lit up. The neon lights are shining, and I’m just thinking about how crazy today was. I love this city, but man, it can be wild. So, yeah, that was my day. Fukuoka, you’re a trip! Can’t wait to do it all over again... maybe.
