OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, Funehikimachi-funehiki is usually chill, but not today. First off, I woke up late. Like, super late. My alarm? Totally didn’t go off. I was supposed to be at the Takamatsu Park by 9 AM. But nope, I rolled outta bed at 9:30. Panic mode activated! I threw on whatever I could find. I think I was still wearing my PJs under my jacket. 😂 So, I sprinted to the park. Funehikimachi-funehiki is this cute little town, right? It’s got these narrow streets like Kiyomizu-dori, and the cherry blossoms were still hanging on. I mean, who doesn’t love cherry blossoms? But I didn’t have time to enjoy them. I was on a mission! Finally, I get to the park, and there’s this little dude, Yuto, waiting for me. He’s like, “You’re late!” And I’m like, “Dude, I’m here now, let’s roll!” He’s 6, full of energy, and honestly, he’s a handful. We start running around, and I’m trying to keep up. Then, outta nowhere, it starts raining. Like, pouring! I’m talking about the kind of rain that makes you feel like you’re in a movie. Yuto starts laughing, and I’m just standing there, drenched. I’m like, “Great, just great!” But then, he splashes in a puddle, and I can’t help but laugh too. Kids, man. They make everything better. After the rain, we decided to hit up this little café on Funehiki Street. It’s called “Sakura Sweets,” and OMG, their mochi is to die for! We got some, and Yuto’s face when he took a bite? Priceless! He was like, “This is the best thing ever!” I mean, I get it. Mochi is life. But then, the drama hit. We were walking back, and Yuto spots a cat. Not just any cat, but a fluffy one! He runs after it, and I’m like, “No, Yuto, wait!” But he’s already off. I’m chasing him down the street, yelling, “Come back!” I swear, I almost tripped over a bike parked on the side of the road. Funehikimachi-funehiki streets are narrow, and I’m not the most graceful person. 😂 Finally, we catch the cat. It’s just chilling, like, “What’s all the fuss about?” Yuto is over the moon. He’s petting it, and I’m just relieved we didn’t end up in a cat fight. After that, we headed to the Funehiki River. It’s so pretty there, especially with the sunset. I was feeling all zen, you know? But then, Yuto decides he wants to throw rocks in the water. I’m like, “Okay, but not too big!” Next thing I know, he’s launching a boulder. I’m screaming, “Nooooo!” It splashes everywhere, and I’m soaked again. At this point, I’m just laughing. Like, what else can you do? Kids are wild. We ended up sitting by the river, eating more mochi, and just talking. He told me about his dreams of being a superhero. I mean, who doesn’t want to be a superhero, right? As the day wrapped up, I was exhausted but happy. Funehikimachi-funehiki had thrown everything at me today—rain, cats, and a rock splash zone. But honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I dropped Yuto off, and his mom was like, “How was it?” I just smiled and said, “You have a little tornado on your hands!” She laughed, and I felt this warm glow. So yeah, that was my day. Funehikimachi-funehiki, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me! Can’t wait for the next adventure! 🌸
