Man, today was a wild ride in Hadano. Like, seriously, I thought I was just gonna serve some coffee and call it a day. But nah, life had other plans. So, I roll into the café on Kōen-dōri, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Wrong! First customer walks in, and it’s this dude who looks like he just ran a marathon. Sweaty mess, right? He orders a triple shot espresso. I’m like, “Bro, you sure you want that?” But he’s all, “I need it!” So, I whip it up, and he downs it like it’s water. I swear, I thought he was gonna float away. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Kenji shows up. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “What’s up, man?” He tells me he just got a promotion at work. I’m stoked for him, but then he says he’s moving to Yokohama. Like, what?! I’m happy for him, but also, dude, why you gotta leave me? We always hit up the izakayas on Shōwa-dōri after work. Ugh, life is unfair sometimes. Anyway, back to the grind. The café starts filling up. I’m making lattes, cappuccinos, you name it. And then, this lady walks in with a dog. Not just any dog, but a tiny, fluffy Pomeranian. I’m talking about a ball of fluff that could fit in my hand. Everyone’s cooing over it, and I’m just trying to keep my cool. But then, the dog jumps on the counter! Like, excuse me?! I’m trying to make a living here! I’m chasing this dog around, and it’s like a scene from a comedy movie. Customers are laughing, and I’m just trying not to lose my mind. Finally, I catch it, and the lady’s like, “Oh, he’s just friendly!” Yeah, well, he’s also a menace! After that chaos, I take a breather outside. I’m standing on the corner of Kōen-dōri, just trying to catch my breath. The view is nice, though. You can see the mountains in the distance, and it’s kinda peaceful. But then, I hear this loud noise. It’s a bunch of kids on bikes, racing down the street. They’re screaming and laughing, and I can’t help but smile. Reminds me of when I was a kid, just carefree and wild. But then, I see one of them wipe out. Oof! He goes down hard, and I’m like, “Oh no!” But he pops right back up, laughing it off. Kids are tough, man. I wish I had that kind of resilience. Back inside, the rush is still on. I’m pouring coffee like a madman. Then, this old lady comes in. She’s super sweet, but she’s also a bit forgetful. She orders a matcha latte, and then she forgets her wallet. I’m like, “No worries, I got you.” I mean, it’s just a drink, right? But she insists on coming back to pay. I’m thinking, “Lady, it’s just a latte!” But she’s so adamant, it’s kinda cute. As the day winds down, I’m cleaning up. The café is finally quiet. I’m exhausted but happy. I think about all the crazy stuff that happened. Hadano is a small city, but it’s full of life. The streets, the people, the little moments—they all add up. I head home, and I can’t help but laugh at the day. It was chaotic, emotional, and just plain weird. But that’s life, right? You never know what’s gonna happen next. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, here’s to more crazy days in Hadano. Bring it on!
