Man, what a day! I woke up in Hakodate, and let me tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m a refractor, right? So, I’m all about that light and lens life. But today? Today was wild. I hit the streets of Motomachi, and wow, the view! Those old Western-style buildings are just chillin’ there, like they own the place. I’m walking down the cobblestone streets, and I’m like, “Dude, this is so Instagrammable!” But then, bam! I trip over a loose stone. Classic me, right? I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” So, I shake it off and head to the morning market on Hakodate’s waterfront. Fish everywhere! I mean, I love sushi, but this was next level. I grab some fresh squid, and it’s like, “Whoa, this is the real deal.” But then, I see this dude trying to haggle over a fish. Like, c’mon man, it’s a fish, not a car! After that, I decide to hit up the Goryokaku Park. It’s this star-shaped fort, and I’m all about that history vibe. I’m walking around, and I see families having picnics, kids running around, and I’m just standing there, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I see a kid throw a frisbee, and it smacks me right in the face! I’m like, “Seriously?!” But whatever, I laugh it off. I mean, it’s Hakodate, right? You gotta roll with the punches. I take a deep breath, and the air smells like cherry blossoms. So nice! I’m thinking, “This is life, man.” Then, I decide to check out the view from Mount Hakodate. I take the ropeway up, and it’s packed. I’m squished between a couple who’s way too into each other. Like, get a room, people! But when I finally get to the top, oh man, the view is insane! The city lights up like a Christmas tree. I’m snapping pics like a tourist, and I don’t even care. But then, I overhear this guy talking about how he’s never seen anything like it. I’m like, “Dude, you’re missing out!” I mean, Hakodate is a gem. The bay, the mountains, the food—everything! After soaking in the view, I head back down, and I’m feeling all philosophical. Like, what’s the meaning of life? Is it the sushi? The views? The random frisbee attacks? Who knows! I stroll down to the Red Brick Warehouses. They’re so cool! I’m checking out shops, and I find this quirky little place selling handmade stuff. I grab a cute keychain, and the lady behind the counter is super nice. She tells me about the history of the warehouses, and I’m like, “Wow, I didn’t know that!” But then, I step outside, and it starts pouring! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I duck into a café, and it’s cozy. I order a coffee, and the barista is this chill dude. We start chatting about Hakodate, and he tells me about the best spots to eat. I’m taking notes like a student. Finally, I decide to wrap up my day with some ramen. I hit up this little joint on Yachigashira Street. The broth is rich, and I’m slurping like there’s no tomorrow. I’m in heaven! But then, I spill some on my shirt. Classic! I’m like, “Great, now I’m a walking ramen ad.” As I head back to my place, I can’t help but smile. Hakodate is a wild mix of beauty and chaos. I’m exhausted but happy. I mean, who knew a day could be so packed with surprises? So yeah, that was my day in Hakodate. Full of ups, downs, and a whole lotta ramen. Can’t wait to do it all again!
