Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Himi is wild. Like, I woke up thinking it’d be chill, but nah, not in this city. First off, I’m a self-determination coach for students, right? So, I’m all about helping these kids find their path. But today? Pffft, it was a rollercoaster. So, I hit the streets of Himi, and lemme tell ya, the vibe is just... electric. I’m walkin’ down Kōen-dōri, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Like, I’m talkin’ Instagram-worthy. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Seriously?! I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” I shake it off, literally, and head to this café on Kōen-dōri. It’s called Café Himi, super cute, right? I order a matcha latte, and the barista is this chill dude. He’s like, “You want it hot or iced?” I’m like, “Dude, it’s Japan. Hot, always.” But then he spills it all over the counter. I’m just standing there, like, “Is this a sign?” After that, I meet up with a group of students at Himi High. They’re all pumped about their future, but I can see the anxiety in their eyes. I’m like, “Yo, chill! You got this!” But then one kid, let’s call him Taro, starts crying. I’m like, “Bro, what’s up?” Turns out, he’s worried about college. I mean, who isn’t? But I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna crush it!” Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. I’m thinkin’, “Seriously? In the middle of my pep talk?” So we all rush outside, and I’m trying to keep the vibe positive. I’m like, “Look at the bright side! Free fresh air!” But Taro’s still sobbing. I’m like, “C’mon, man! We’re in Himi! Look at the mountains!” After the chaos, we head to the beach. Himi’s got this beautiful coastline, right? I’m feelin’ the ocean breeze, and it’s like, “Finally, some peace!” But then, I see a bunch of kids trying to surf. And they’re terrible! I’m talkin’ wipeouts galore. I can’t help but laugh. I’m like, “Hey, at least you’re trying!” But then, I get a text from my boss. “We need to talk.” I’m like, “Oh great, what now?” Turns out, they want me to lead a workshop in Tokyo. I’m like, “Dude, I’m just tryin’ to survive Himi right now!” But I can’t say no, so I’m like, “Sure, let’s do it.” As the sun sets, I’m walkin’ back through Himi, and it hits me. This city is full of surprises. I mean, one minute you’re dodging pigeon poop, and the next you’re helping kids find their way. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. I finally get to my apartment, and I’m exhausted. I flop on the couch, and I’m like, “What a day!” But deep down, I know I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Himi, you crazy, but I love ya.
