Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Hita really knows how to throw a curveball. Woke up this mornin’ feelin’ like a champ, ready to take on the world. But Hita? Nah, it had other plans. So, I’m strollin’ down the streets, right? Hit up the main drag, Kōen-dōri. It’s a chill spot, lined with shops and cafes. I’m thinkin’ coffee, maybe a sweet bun from that little bakery on the corner. You know the one? The smell hits ya like a warm hug. But guess what? They were outta my fave! Ugh! I was like, “Seriously?!” Then, I’m walkin’ past the Hita River. Man, it’s beautiful. The water’s glistening, and I’m feelin’ all zen. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, kickin’ a soccer ball. And boom! The ball hits me right in the shin! I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” But he just laughs and runs off. Kids these days, right? Anyway, I keep goin’, tryin’ to shake it off. I hit up the Hita Gion Matsuri shrine. It’s got this vibe, ya know? Super peaceful. But then, I see this group of tourists takin’ selfies. Like, c’mon! You’re in a sacred place, not a theme park! I roll my eyes so hard, I think I pulled a muscle. Then, I decide to grab some lunch. I’m at this little izakaya on Shōwa-dōri. The food? Amazing! I order some yakitori, and it’s like a party in my mouth. But then, the owner starts talkin’ to me. He’s super friendly, but man, he talks a lot. I’m tryin’ to eat, and he’s goin’ on about the history of Hita. I’m like, “Dude, I just wanna enjoy my chicken!” After lunch, I’m feelin’ a bit better. I head over to the Hita Onsen. I mean, who doesn’t love a good soak? But when I get there, it’s packed! Like, what’s up with that? I’m standin’ in line, and this old guy in front of me starts tellin’ me about his grandkids. I’m like, “Cool story, bro, but I just wanna relax!” Finally, I get in. The water’s hot, and I’m thinkin’, “Yes! This is it!” But then, I hear this loud splash. Some dude just cannonballed in! I’m like, “Really, man?!” I’m tryin’ to chill, and he’s makin’ waves. After the onsen, I’m feelin’ kinda drained. I decide to hit up the local market on Hita’s main street. It’s vibrant, full of colors and sounds. I’m walkin’ around, checkin’ out the stalls. I see some fresh fruit, and I’m like, “Yum!” But then, I trip over a crate. Classic me, right? I’m sprawled out on the ground, and everyone’s starin’. I just laugh it off, but inside, I’m like, “Ugh, why me?” As the sun starts settlin’, I’m walkin’ back home. I pass by the old wooden houses on the side streets. They’re so cool, like somethin’ outta a movie. I stop to take a pic, and this old lady comes up to me. She’s super sweet, offers me some tea. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” We chat for a bit, and it’s nice. Finally, I get home, and I’m beat. I flop on my bed, thinkin’ about the day. Hita, you wild! You made me mad, you made me laugh, and you even made me feel a bit warm inside. What a rollercoaster! So yeah, that was my day. Just another adventure in Hita. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
