Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a glazier in Ichinomiya is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I’m on Kamezaki Street, just minding my own biz, when I get a call. “Yo, we need you at the new café on Meiji Street. Like, now!” I’m thinkin’, “Great, I just had my coffee!” But whatever, I grab my tools and head out. So, I get to this café, and it’s a cute little spot. They’ve got these big glass windows, all fancy and stuff. But guess what? They ordered the wrong size! I mean, c’mon! How hard is it to measure? I’m fuming. Like, I could’ve sworn I saw the guy at the shop measuring with a ruler made of spaghetti. While I’m there, I see this cute dog. A Shiba Inu, just chillin’ by the entrance. I’m like, “Aww, look at you!” But then, the owner’s like, “Don’t pet him, he bites.” Ugh, why do all the cute dogs have to be mean? Anyway, I’m trying to fix the window, and it’s a whole mess. Glass everywhere. I’m dodging shards like I’m in some action movie. And then, outta nowhere, this old lady walks by. She stops, looks at me, and says, “You know, back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy glass.” I’m like, “Lady, I’m just trying to not cut my fingers off here!” After that chaos, I head over to the Ichinomiya City Hall. Gotta pick up some permits, right? But the line is longer than the queue for a concert! I’m standing there, tapping my foot, thinking about how I could be at home watching anime instead. Finally, I get to the front, and the clerk’s like, “You need form 42B.” I’m like, “What the heck is that?” Turns out, it’s just a piece of paper saying I’m allowed to work. By the time I’m done, it’s lunchtime. I hit up this little ramen joint on Owari Street. Best decision ever! I order the spicy miso ramen, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m slurping away, and the owner’s giving me the thumbs up. I’m like, “Yeah, I know I’m awesome.” But then, I get a call again. “Hey, we need you at the park!” I’m like, “What park?” Turns out, it’s the one by the river. I get there, and it’s a whole festival! People everywhere, food stalls, music blaring. I’m just trying to find the guy who called me. Finally, I spot him. He’s standing next to a broken glass display. I’m like, “Dude, you couldn’t have told me this was a festival?” He just shrugs. I’m thinking, “Great, now I gotta fix this while dodging festival-goers.” So, I’m working, and this kid runs by, trips, and spills his ice cream all over my tools. I’m like, “Seriously?!” But then, he looks up at me with those big eyes, and I can’t even be mad. I just laugh it off. As the sun starts to set, I’m finally done. I’m exhausted but happy. I walk along the river, watching the cherry blossoms dance in the breeze. Ichinomiya is beautiful, man. I love this city, even with all the craziness. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, a bit of anger, and a whole lotta ramen. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
