Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Iida is wild. I woke up on my boat, right? The sun was blazin’, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local market on Nakano-dori. You know, the one with all the fresh fish and veggies? I’m a sailor, so I love my seafood. But lemme tell ya, the prices were insane! I mean, who knew fish could cost more than my boat rent? I was like, “C’mon, I’m just tryin’ to eat here!” Then, I bumped into this old dude. He was selling some weird-looking fruit. I think it was called “kaki” or something. He was all like, “Try it! It’s sweet!” So, I took a bite. OMG, it was like eating a mushy sock! I almost spat it out right there. But I didn’t wanna be rude, so I just smiled and nodded. Ugh, never again! After that, I strolled down to the Iida River. Man, the view was sick! The water was glistening, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I was feelin’ all poetic, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zoomed past me and splashed water all over my shoes. I was like, “Dude, seriously?!” I mean, I just cleaned those! So, I’m fuming, right? I decide to grab a drink at this little izakaya on Shimo-ichida. I walk in, and it’s packed. I’m thinkin’, “Great, I’ll just grab a seat at the bar.” But nooo, some guy takes my spot! I’m like, “Bro, I was here first!” But he just gives me this look like I’m crazy. Whatever, I’ll just stand here and sip my sake. Finally, I get a seat. I order some yakitori, and it’s bomb! I’m munchin’ away, and this lady next to me starts chatting. Turns out, she’s a local artist. She’s all about the Iida scenery and how it inspires her work. I’m like, “That’s cool, but I just wanna eat!” But she’s super passionate, so I listen. Then, she mentions the Iida City Museum. I’ve never been, but she says it’s got some dope exhibits. I’m thinkin’, “Maybe I’ll check it out tomorrow.” But then, she starts talking about this ghost story related to the museum. I’m like, “Nah, I’m good. I don’t need any ghostly encounters.” After dinner, I wander around. I hit up the Iida Castle ruins. It’s kinda eerie at night, but also beautiful. I’m standing there, lookin’ at the stars, and I feel this weird mix of peace and chaos. Like, I love the sea, but this place has its own vibe. But then, I hear this loud noise. Turns out, it’s a bunch of kids setting off fireworks! I’m like, “What the heck? It’s a Tuesday!” But I can’t help but smile. It’s kinda magical, ya know? So, I’m watchin’ the fireworks, and I think about my life. I’m a sailor, but I’m also just a dude tryin’ to figure it all out. Iida’s got this charm that pulls you in. It’s messy, it’s beautiful, and it’s full of surprises. By the time I head back to my boat, I’m exhausted but happy. I mean, what a rollercoaster! Iida, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
