Man, what a day! Iizuka, you wild city! I woke up, sun blarin’ through my window. I’m a bone cutter, right? So, I’m used to the grind. But today? Today was somethin’ else. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Shimozuma Street. Grabbed my usual: onigiri and a can of iced coffee. I swear, that coffee is like rocket fuel. I’m chuggin’ it down, and boom! I’m ready to tackle anything. Or so I thought. I get to the clinic, and it’s packed. Like, standing-room-only packed. I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what I need.” Iizuka’s got a population of about 150k, and today, it felt like all of ‘em decided to show up. I mean, c’mon! I’m just tryin’ to cut bones here, not run a circus. So, I’m in the back, preppin’ my tools. I got my scalpel, saw, and all that jazz. Then, outta nowhere, this dude bursts in. He’s all frantic, shoutin’ about his dog. I’m like, “Bro, this is a bone clinic, not a vet!” But he’s got this look in his eyes, y’know? Desperation. So, I’m like, “Fine, what’s up?” Turns out, his pup, a little Shiba Inu named Taro, got into a fight with a raccoon. A freakin’ raccoon! I can’t even. Iizuka’s got its share of wildlife, but a raccoon? Really? Anyway, the dog’s leg is messed up, and I’m feelin’ for the guy. I mean, I love dogs. So, I tell him to chill, and I’ll take a look. I head outside, and there’s Taro, lookin’ all sad. I can’t help but smile. Dogs just get me, man. I do my thing, fix him up, and the dude is over the moon. He’s like, “You’re a lifesaver!” I’m thinkin’, “Nah, just a bone cutter.” But it felt good, y’know? Made my day a bit brighter. After that, I’m back to the grind. Iizuka’s streets are buzzin’. I can hear the sounds of the city—cars honkin’, people chattin’, and the occasional train rumblin’ by. The Nishitetsu Iizuka Line is always a sight. I love watchin’ those trains zoom past. It’s like a reminder that life’s always movin’. But then, I get a call. My buddy Kenji, who runs a ramen shop on Kiyokawa Street, is in a bind. He’s outta broth! I’m like, “Dude, how do you run a ramen shop without broth?” He’s panicking, and I can’t help but laugh. So, I tell him I’ll swing by after work. Finally, the day winds down. Iizuka’s got this chill vibe at night. The neon lights on the streets, the smell of yakitori wafting through the air. I hit up Kenji’s place, and it’s packed. I’m talkin’ full house. I grab a bowl of his famous tonkotsu, and man, it’s like heaven in a bowl. I’m slurpin’ away, and Kenji’s just grinning. “Thanks for savin’ my butt,” he says. I’m like, “Anytime, bro.” But honestly, I’m just happy to be here, in Iizuka, surrounded by good food and good friends. As I head home, I can’t help but think about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. From frantic dog rescues to ramen adventures, Iizuka never fails to surprise me. I love this city, with all its quirks and craziness. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
