Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Ikoma is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I’m cruising down Ikoma’s main drag, Ikoma-dori. It’s packed with shops and cafes, and I’m just vibin’. I grab a coffee from this little joint called “Kissa Katsu.” Best coffee in town, no cap. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. Emergency call from a client. A tree’s about to fall on their house! Like, seriously? Who lets a tree get that bad? So, I zoom over to the spot on Kawai-cho. The tree’s massive, like a giant green monster. I’m sweating bullets just looking at it. I’m thinking, “This is gonna be a whole thing.” I get my gear on, and as I’m climbing, I’m like, “Why do I do this?” But then I see the view from up there. You can see all of Ikoma, the mountains in the background, and it’s just... wow. But then, outta nowhere, a squirrel decides to join me. This little dude is chattering away like he owns the place. I’m up there, trying to focus, and this squirrel’s like, “Hey, what’s up, human?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m trying to save your tree!” Finally, I get the branches trimmed, and the tree’s safe. Client’s happy, I’m happy. But then, I’m heading back down, and I slip! I’m flailing like a cartoon character. Thank God for my harness, or I’d be a pancake. Next, I head over to the Ikoma Botanical Garden. I love that place. It’s like a little slice of heaven. I’m wandering around, checking out the cherry blossoms. They’re in full bloom, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. But then, I see this kid running around, and he trips. Falls right into a flower bed. I can’t help but laugh. Poor kid’s covered in dirt and petals. After that, I’m feeling good, right? So, I decide to grab lunch at this spot on Kintetsu Ikoma Station. I order some ramen, and it’s like a hug in a bowl. But then, my phone buzzes again. Another emergency! A tree’s blocking a road on Hoshida. I’m like, “Seriously? Can’t a guy eat in peace?” I rush over, and it’s chaos. Cars honking, people yelling. I’m trying to clear the road, and this one guy starts arguing with me. “Why’s it taking so long?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a magician!” Finally, I get the tree cleared, and people are cheering. I’m feeling like a hero, but also exhausted. By the time I’m done, it’s late afternoon. I’m walking back to my truck, and I see the sunset over the mountains. It’s breathtaking. I take a moment to breathe it all in. Ikoma’s got this charm, ya know? The mix of nature and city life. But then, I trip over a curb. Classic me. I’m laughing at myself, thinking, “What a day!” I hop in my truck, ready to head home. I’m beat, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Ikoma’s wild, but it’s my wild. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of trees, squirrels, and a whole lotta chaos. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
