Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from all the craziness that went down in Inuyama. Like, I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring admin day, but nope! Not even close. So, I’m chillin’ at my place on Kiso River, right? Sippin’ my morning coffee, scrolling through emails, and boom! My boss hits me up. “Hey, we need you to handle the event at Inuyama Castle today.” Ugh, great. Just what I wanted. But hey, at least I get to see the castle, right? I hop on my bike and cruise down the streets. The air’s fresh, and I’m feeling kinda good. I zoom past the Inuyama Bridge, and wow, the view is killer! The river’s glistening, and I’m like, “Why don’t I do this more often?” But then, I hit a pothole. Like, seriously? Inuyama, fix your roads! My bike almost flipped, and I nearly lost my coffee. Finally, I get to the castle. It’s this stunning piece of history, all wooden and majestic. I’m snapping pics like a tourist. I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s one of Japan’s oldest castles! But then, I realize I’m late. Classic me. I rush inside, and the event’s already in full swing. People are mingling, and I’m just trying to blend in. But then, I spot this dude in a suit, looking all serious. Turns out he’s the mayor! I’m like, “Oh great, just what I need.” I try to act cool, but my brain’s like, “Don’t mess this up!” So, I’m chatting with him, and he’s super nice. We talk about the local festivals, like the Inuyama Festival. I mean, who doesn’t love a good parade with floats and all that jazz? But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, tripping over my feet. I’m like, “Whoa, kid! Watch it!” But he just laughs and keeps running. Kids, man. After that, I’m feeling a bit more relaxed. I grab some food from a nearby stall on Sanbongi Street. They’ve got these amazing yakitori skewers. I’m munching away, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, I see a group of tourists struggling with their map. I’m like, “Do I help or just eat?” I decide to help. Turns out they’re looking for the Meiji Mura. I’m like, “Dude, it’s a bit far, but I can point you in the right direction.” They’re super grateful, and I feel like a hero for a sec. But then, I realize I’ve lost track of time again. Ugh! I rush back to the castle, and guess what? The mayor’s gone! I missed my chance to impress him. I’m fuming. Like, why can’t I just get it together? But then, I see a bunch of kids playing with kites outside. They’re laughing, and it’s contagious. I can’t help but smile. As the day winds down, I’m walking back to my bike, and I see the sunset over the Kiso River. It’s breathtaking. I take a moment to just breathe it all in. Inuyama, you’ve got my heart. But then, I remember I still have to deal with my emails. Ugh, adulting sucks. I hop on my bike, and as I ride home, I can’t help but think about how wild today was. From almost crashing my bike to chatting with the mayor, it was a rollercoaster. Inuyama, you’re a gem. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
