Man, today was a wild ride in Iwade. Like, seriously, I didn’t expect this city to throw me so many curveballs. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kōen-dōri. You know, the one with the best onigiri? I grab my usual—salmon, of course. But guess what? They were out! I mean, how do you run out of salmon on a sunny day? I was ready to throw a fit. But I settled for some weird tuna mayo thing. Not the same, man. Not the same. Then I decided to stroll down to Iwade Park. It’s a nice spot, right? Trees everywhere, kids playing, and old folks feeding the pigeons. I’m just vibing, listening to my tunes, when suddenly, this kid runs past me, chasing a soccer ball. He kicks it, and boom! Right into a fountain! Water goes everywhere! I’m soaked! Like, thanks, kid. Just what I needed. But honestly, it was kinda funny. I couldn’t help but laugh. After that, I thought, “Let’s hit up the Iwade City Museum.” I’ve never been, and I’m curious about the local history. So I’m wandering around, checking out the exhibits. There’s this one about the Edo period. Super cool stuff! But then, I overhear this old dude talking about how “back in his day, things were better.” Ugh, classic. I mean, dude, we’ve got sushi delivery now. What’s better than that? Anyway, I’m getting lost in the museum when I bump into this girl. She’s cute, right? We start chatting about the exhibits, and I’m trying to play it cool. But then, she mentions she’s from Osaka. My heart sinks. I mean, come on! Why do all the cool people have to be from somewhere else? But we keep talking, and she’s super chill. We exchange numbers, and I’m like, “Maybe today isn’t so bad after all.” So, I leave the museum, feeling kinda pumped. I decide to walk down to the Iwade River. The view is stunning! The water’s sparkling, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. I’m snapping pics like a tourist. But then, outta nowhere, this huge dog runs up to me. It’s all muddy and slobbery. I’m like, “Dude, get away!” But it’s too late. I’m covered in dog drool. Just my luck, right? Now I’m walking back, feeling like a mess. I hit up a little café on Shōwa-dōri. I need coffee, like, STAT. I order a latte, and the barista is super nice. She even draws a heart on my foam. I’m like, “Aww, that’s cute.” But then I spill it all over myself. Seriously, what is wrong with me today? Finally, I decide to call it a day. I’m walking back home, and I can’t help but think about all the craziness. Iwade is a trip, man. One minute you’re getting soaked by a fountain, and the next, you’re chatting up a cute girl. It’s like a rollercoaster. As I crash on my couch, I’m just laughing. Today was a mess, but it was MY mess. Iwade, you crazy city, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
