Man, what a day in Iwamizawa! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kiyokawa Street. Gotta grab my morning coffee, ya know? I’m standing there, half-asleep, and this old dude starts chatting me up about the weather. Like, bro, it’s Japan, it’s either gonna rain or be sunny. What’s the big deal? But he’s all into it, talking about how the cherry blossoms are gonna bloom soon. I’m like, “Yeah, cool, but I need caffeine!” Finally, I get my coffee and head to the park. Iwamizawa Park, man, it’s beautiful. Green grass, kids playing, and I’m just vibing. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, and I swear he almost knocks my coffee outta my hand! I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But he just laughs and keeps running. Kids these days, right? So, I’m sitting there, sipping my coffee, when I get a call. It’s my boss. Ugh. He’s like, “We need a live ad at the Iwamizawa Festival today.” I’m like, “Today?!” I mean, I was planning to just chill, but whatever. Gotta hustle, right? I rush over to the festival at the Iwamizawa Civic Center. It’s packed! Food stalls everywhere, people in yukatas, and the smell of takoyaki fills the air. I’m trying to set up my stuff, but it’s chaos. I’m tripping over cables, and this lady selling yakitori keeps bumping into me. I’m like, “Can I get some space here?” But she just smiles and offers me a skewer. I mean, who can say no to food, right? Finally, I get my setup done. I’m ready to go live. The crowd’s hyped, and I’m feeling it. I start my pitch, and people are actually paying attention! I’m like, “Yes! This is it!” But then, outta nowhere, the mic cuts out. Silence. Crickets. I’m sweating bullets. I’m waving my hands like a madman, trying to get it back on. Then, this kid from earlier runs up, and he’s like, “I can help!” I’m thinking, “What can a kid do?” But he grabs the mic and starts talking about the festival. And guess what? The crowd loves it! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Who is this kid?” He’s got charisma! After that, I’m riding high. The kid’s a star! I’m thinking, “Maybe I should hire him.” But then, I see my boss in the crowd, and he’s not looking happy. I’m like, “Oh no, what now?” Turns out, he wanted me to do a serious pitch, not this fun, spontaneous vibe. I’m like, “Dude, lighten up! It’s a festival!” But he just shakes his head. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I grab some more takoyaki and sit by the river. The sun’s setting, and I’m just reflecting on the madness. Iwamizawa, you crazy little city, you’ve got my heart. I mean, who knew a day could go from chill to chaotic to downright epic? I’m still buzzing from that kid’s energy. I’m thinking, “Maybe I should just let loose more often.” Life’s too short, right? So yeah, that was my day. Iwamizawa, you’ve got a wild side, and I’m here for it!
