Seriously, they move like they’re in slow-mo. I almost yelled, “Get outta the way!” but I held back. Gotta keep my cool, right?
First call of the day? A client freaking out about some stocks. I mean, c’mon! It’s just numbers on a screen! But nah, he’s losing it over some tech company. I told him, “Chill, bro! It’s just a dip!” But he wasn’t having it. I could feel my blood pressure rising. I swear, if I had a yen for every time I had to calm someone down, I’d be rich!
Then, I got a surprise call from my buddy Kenji. He’s always got the inside scoop. He tells me about this new startup on Takasago Street. They’re about to blow up! I’m like, “Dude, you serious?” He’s all hyped up, and I’m thinking, “This could be it!” So, I start crunching numbers, and my heart’s racing.
But then, bam! My computer crashes. Just like that! I’m staring at the screen like it’s possessed. I’m yelling, “No, no, no!” Iwatsuki’s got this weird vibe today. It’s like the universe is testing me. I finally get it back up, and guess what? The stock’s already shot up! I missed the boat! Ugh, I was so mad.
After that, I needed a breather. I hit up the park near Iwatsuki Castle. It’s a chill spot, man. I sat on a bench, trying to clear my head. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and I thought, “This is nice.” But then, I saw a kid flying a kite, and it got tangled in a tree. I couldn’t help but laugh. Life’s a mess sometimes, right?
Back to the grind. I rushed to the office on Koshigaya. My boss was on my case about those missed stocks. I’m like, “Dude, chill! I’m on it!” But he just kept going. I wanted to tell him to take a hike, but I held my tongue. Gotta keep the job, ya know?
Then, outta nowhere, I get a call from a big client. They wanna invest big in Iwatsuki’s local businesses. I’m like, “Heck yeah!” I start pitching ideas, and they’re eating it up. I felt like a rockstar! I mean, who wouldn’t wanna invest in this awesome city? The food, the culture, the people—Iwatsuki’s got it all!
But just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I got a text from my girl. She’s in town, and she wants to meet up. I’m like, “Perfect timing!” I wrapped up my day, and we hit up this izakaya on Sakae. The food was bomb! We laughed, we talked, and I forgot all about the stress.
As the night rolled in, I walked her home. The streets were lit up, and Iwatsuki felt alive. I thought about how crazy the day was. From stress to joy, it was a rollercoaster. I love this city, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home.
