Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m the office manager, right? And today was just a rollercoaster in Kamiichi. Like, who knew this little town could throw so much at ya? First off, I woke up late. Classic me. Alarm didn’t go off. I’m sprinting down the street, dodging people on Kurobe River Road. I mean, come on! It’s like a game of Frogger out here. I’m half-dressed, hair’s a mess, and I’m just praying I don’t trip over my own feet. Finally, I get to the office on Kamiichi’s main street, and guess what? The coffee machine’s broken. Ugh! I can’t function without my morning caffeine fix. I’m like a zombie without it. So, I’m grumpy, right? I head out to the nearest konbini (convenience store) on Shimozato Street. Grabbed a can of coffee, but it’s lukewarm. Like, who drinks lukewarm coffee? Not me! Then, I get back to the office, and my boss is all like, “We need to talk about the budget.” Oh great, just what I needed. Budget talks are the worst. I’m sitting there, trying to keep my eyes open, and he’s going on about numbers and spreadsheets. I’m like, “Dude, can we not?” But then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Taro. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the Matsuri later!” I’m like, “Heck yes!” Matsuri means festival, and who doesn’t love a good festival? I’m suddenly pumped. So, after work, I’m racing to the Matsuri at Kamiichi Park. The streets are packed! I’m talking about people everywhere. The smell of yakitori fills the air. I can’t resist. I grab a skewer, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munching away, feeling all the good vibes. But then, I see this guy trying to juggle. And he’s terrible at it! Like, seriously, how do you drop three balls in a row? I’m laughing so hard, I almost choke on my food. I mean, come on, dude! Get it together! Then, I spot the fireworks starting. OMG, they’re beautiful! The sky lights up over the mountains. I’m standing there, just in awe. It’s like all my stress just melts away. I’m snapping pics like a tourist. But wait, it gets crazier. I bump into my ex. Ugh, why? We start talking, and it’s awkward. Like, super awkward. I’m trying to be cool, but inside I’m like, “Why are you here?” But then, we end up laughing about old times. It’s weird, but kinda nice? After that, I’m feeling all nostalgic and stuff. I wander over to the food stalls on Kurobe Street. I grab some taiyaki, and it’s so good! I’m in food heaven. But then, I spill some on my shirt. Great, just great. Now I look like a mess. As the night winds down, I’m walking back home, feeling all the feels. Kamiichi is lit up, and it’s just beautiful. I think about how crazy today was. From the coffee disaster to the fireworks, it was a wild ride. I finally get home, and I’m exhausted. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade this day for anything. It was chaotic, emotional, and just plain fun. Here’s to more days like this in Kamiichi!
