Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a charcoal burner, right? Yeah, I know, not the most glamorous gig, but it’s honest work. Anyway, I woke up in Kamirenjaku, and lemme tell ya, this city is a trip. It’s got that old-school vibe mixed with modern chaos. You got the mountains in the back, and the streets are all twisty like they’re trying to confuse ya. First thing, I hit up the local market on Kōen-dōri. I’m just tryna grab some supplies, ya know? But the place was packed! I mean, like sardines in a can. I’m dodging people left and right, and this lady bumps into me. I spill my charcoal! Ugh! I was so mad, I could’ve exploded. Like, c’mon, lady! Watch where you’re going! But then, I see this little kid, right? He’s got this huge smile, holding a balloon. And I’m like, “Dude, that’s what life’s about!” So, I chill for a sec, and I’m just watching him. He lets go of the balloon, and it floats away. I’m thinking, “Oh no, kid!” But he just laughs! Like, what? I’m over here fuming about my charcoal, and this kid’s just living his best life. After that, I head down to the river, the Kamo River, ya know? It’s beautiful there. The water’s sparkling, and I’m feeling a bit better. I sit on a bench, just taking it all in. Then, outta nowhere, this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s telling me about the history of Kamirenjaku, how it used to be a charcoal town back in the day. I’m like, “Yeah, I know, I’m part of that history!” But he’s all into it, going on about how the streets like Kōen-dōri and Hōjō-dōri were once bustling with charcoal burners. I’m getting all nostalgic, thinking about my granddad. He was a charcoal burner too. He used to tell me stories about the old days. I miss him. But then, I snap back to reality. I gotta get back to work! So, I’m hustling back, and I decide to take a shortcut through the back alleys. Big mistake! I end up in this sketchy part of town. I’m talking graffiti everywhere, and it smells like… well, let’s just say it’s not roses. I’m trying to keep my head down, but then I hear this loud crash! My heart’s racing. I turn around, and it’s just some kids playing soccer. Phew! Finally, I make it back to my spot. I’m covered in dirt, charcoal dust everywhere. I look like a walking chimney! But I’m proud, ya know? I start up the kiln, and it’s like magic. The flames are dancing, and I’m feeling that warmth. It’s my happy place. As the sun sets, the sky turns this crazy orange. I’m just standing there, watching it all. Kamirenjaku is beautiful, man. I can’t believe I almost let a spilled bag of charcoal ruin my day. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? I’m just a charcoal burner in Kamirenjaku, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well, maybe a million bucks, but you get what I mean!
