Man, what a day in Katsuyama! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Koshino Street. You know, the one with the neon sign that flickers like it’s having a seizure? Yeah, that one. Grabbed a couple of onigiri and a can of that weird green tea. I swear, it tastes like grass. But hey, I’m in Japan, gotta embrace it, right? So, I’m munching on my onigiri, walking down the street, and BAM! I trip over a crack in the sidewalk. Like, come on, Katsuyama! Fix your roads! I’m not trying to audition for a slapstick comedy here. I’m just trying to enjoy my breakfast! Anyway, I finally make it to the Katsuyama Castle. It’s this beautiful old thing, right? But today, it was swarming with tourists. I mean, I get it, it’s a castle, but can’t a guy just enjoy some peace? I’m standing there, trying to take a pic, and this kid runs right in front of me. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not trying to capture your face in my memory!” Then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s super sweet, but she’s talking my ear off about the history of the castle. I’m nodding along, but inside I’m like, “Lady, I just wanna see the view!” But she’s got that fire in her eyes, you know? So, I just smile and pretend to care. After that, I decide to hit up the Katsuyama City Museum. I’m thinking, “Cool, some culture.” But guess what? It’s closed for renovations. Ugh! I’m standing there like an idiot, staring at the locked doors. I could’ve sworn I heard the universe laughing at me. So, I’m wandering around, trying to find something to do. I end up on Koshino Street again, and there’s this little ramen shop. The sign says “Best Ramen in Katsuyama.” I’m like, “Challenge accepted!” I walk in, and it’s packed. I’m talking standing room only. But I’m hungry, so I squeeze in. Finally get my bowl, and OMG, it’s heavenly! The broth is rich, the noodles are perfect. I’m slurping like a maniac, and I don’t even care. This is the highlight of my day! But then, I spill some broth on my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking disaster. After that, I decide to take a stroll by the river. The Katsuyama River is beautiful, especially with the cherry blossoms. But guess what? It starts to rain. Of course! I’m like, “Really, Katsuyama? You couldn’t have held off for five more minutes?” I duck under a tree, trying to stay dry, and I see this cute little dog. It’s just chilling, looking at me like I’m the weird one. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not the one hiding from the rain!” But then it wags its tail, and I’m like, “Aww, you’re cool.” Finally, the rain stops, and I’m soaked but happy. I head back to my place, thinking about how wild today was. Katsuyama, you’ve got my heart, but you also made me wanna pull my hair out! So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another crazy adventure in this beautiful city!
