Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in Kiyose, right? The sun was shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kiyose’s main drag, Kiyose Dori. Grabbed my usual—onigiri and a can of iced coffee. I mean, who doesn’t love a good onigiri, am I right? But then, as I’m munching, I see this dude in a suit, looking all stressed. He’s pacing back and forth like he’s about to take off. I’m like, “Dude, chill. It’s just Kiyose.” But nah, he’s got that “I’m late for a meeting” vibe. So, I finish my breakfast and head to the office. I’m an actuary, which sounds boring, but trust me, it’s a wild ride. I mean, who knew calculating risks could be so intense? Anyway, I’m walking down Kiyose’s side streets, and I pass by the Kiyose City Hall. It’s this big, gray building, and I can’t help but think, “Man, they really need to spruce this place up.” Like, throw some flowers or something. Then, BAM! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I’m talking full-on monsoon. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” I duck into a little café on Kiyose Dori, hoping to wait it out. The place smells like fresh bread, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe this day isn’t a total bust.” I order a matcha latte, and it’s honestly the best thing ever. But then, I overhear this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. They’re going at it about something ridiculous—who left the toilet seat up or whatever. I’m trying to enjoy my latte, but their drama is way too loud. I’m thinking, “Get a room, people!” Finally, the rain lets up, and I head to work. I’m late, of course. My boss is giving me the look. You know the one. I sit down, and my computer decides it’s the perfect time to crash. I’m like, “Seriously?!” I’m trying to recover my work, and my brain’s just like, “Nope, not today.” After what feels like an eternity, I finally get back on track. I’m crunching numbers, and then I get a call from my buddy. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe what just happened!” Apparently, there was a huge festival at Kiyose Park, and I totally missed it. I’m sitting there, fuming. I love festivals! Food stalls, games, the whole shebang. So, I wrap up my work, and I’m outta there. I sprint to Kiyose Park, and it’s like a scene from a movie. Lights everywhere, people laughing, food smells wafting through the air. I’m like a kid in a candy store. I grab some yakitori and a sweet potato, and life is good again. But then, I see that same couple from the café. They’re still arguing! I’m like, “C’mon, guys! You’re at a festival!” I can’t help but laugh. It’s just too ridiculous. As the night goes on, I’m feeling all the feels. The fireworks start, and I’m standing there, mouth agape. It’s beautiful. I forget all the stress from earlier. Kiyose really knows how to put on a show. By the time I head home, I’m exhausted but happy. I think about how crazy the day was. From rain to festivals, and all the random stuff in between. Kiyose, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
