Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an abrasive blaster in Koshu is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Yatsushiro Street. Grabbed my usual—onigiri and a can of iced coffee. I swear, that coffee is like rocket fuel. Anyway, I’m munching away, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s all like, “You know, Koshu has the best grapes.” I’m thinking, “Yeah, buddy, but I’m not here for a vineyard tour.” But hey, I nod and smile. Gotta keep it friendly, right? So, I head to the job site, which is near the Koshu City Hall. The plan? Blast away some old paint from a building. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! I get there, and it’s a total mess. The scaffolding is wobblier than a three-legged dog. I’m like, “Who set this up? A bunch of blindfolded monkeys?” I start blasting, and man, the dust is everywhere. I can’t see a thing! I’m coughing, sneezing, and feeling like I’m in a sandstorm. And then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, chasing a soccer ball. He trips, falls right into my dust cloud. I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” But he just laughs and gets up. Kids these days, right? No fear. Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s all panicky, saying I need to finish by noon. It’s 11:30! I’m like, “You serious, bro?!” But I can’t let him down. So, I crank up the pressure and go full beast mode. I’m blasting away like a madman. Suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and a piece of the scaffolding just collapses! I’m standing there, mouth agape, thinking, “This is how I die.” But nope, just a bunch of tools falling. Phew! But now I’m even more stressed. Finally, I finish just in time. I’m drenched in sweat, covered in dust, and my back feels like it’s been through a blender. But hey, I did it! I’m feeling like a champ. I pack up and head to the nearest izakaya on Kofu Road. I need a drink, like, yesterday. I walk in, and the place is packed. I squeeze into a corner, order some sake, and just chill. The vibe is great. People are laughing, eating, and I’m just soaking it all in. Then, this guy next to me starts talking about the Koshu grape festival. I’m like, “Dude, I just blasted paint, not grapes!” But he’s so hyped about it, I can’t help but smile. After a few drinks, I’m feeling good. I start chatting with the locals. They’re telling me about the best spots in Koshu. I’m taking notes like I’m in class. “Check out the Koshu Castle,” they say. “It’s got history!” I’m thinking, “Yeah, I could use some history after today.” As the night rolls on, I stumble out of the izakaya, feeling like a million bucks. The streets of Koshu are lit up, and I’m just wandering around. I pass by the river, and it’s beautiful. The reflection of the lights on the water is like something outta a movie. I stop for a sec, take a deep breath, and think, “Man, this city is something else.” But then, I trip over my own feet. Classic me, right? I laugh it off, get back up, and keep walking. I’m thinking about how crazy today was. From dust clouds to grape festivals, Koshu never fails to surprise me. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in the life of an abrasive blaster. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
