Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a combine harvester in Kozakai-cho is a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’, birds chirpin’, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kōzaki Street. Gotta grab my morning onigiri, ya know? But guess what? They were outta my fave flavor—salmon! Ugh, I was ready to throw a fit. Like, how do you run outta salmon? It’s a konbini, not a fancy restaurant! So, I settled for some weird tuna thing. Not the same, man. Not the same. Then, I’m cruisin’ down the streets, and let me tell ya, Kozakai-cho is a maze. You got the main road, but then there’s all these little side streets like Kōzaki-dōri and Hōjō Street. I swear, I got lost like three times. I’m just tryin’ to get to the fields, but I end up at some random shrine. It was kinda cool tho, like, “Hey, look at me, I’m cultured!” But still, I was late. Finally, I get to the fields, and it’s go time. I’m in my combine, ready to roll. The sun’s beatin’ down, and I’m sweatin’ like a pig. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs onto the field! I’m like, “Dude, what are you doin’?!” He’s chasing a soccer ball, and I’m just sittin’ there, heart racing. I thought I was gonna have a mini heart attack. I mean, come on! After that little scare, I’m back to work. The crops are lookin’ good, but then my machine starts actin’ up. Like, really? Right now? I’m cursing under my breath, tryin’ to fix it. I’m like, “Why me?!” But then, I get it goin’ again, and I’m back in business. But wait, there’s more! I’m just about done when I see this old lady on the side of the road. She’s tryin’ to cross, but she’s super slow. I’m like, “C’mon, lady, I got places to be!” But then I see her struggle, and my heart softens. So, I stop and help her across. She’s all smiles, and I’m feelin’ like a hero. After that, I head to the local izakaya on Kōzaki-dōri. I need a drink, man. I order some sake and a plate of yakitori. Best decision ever! I’m sittin’ there, laughin’ with the locals, and it’s like all the stress just melts away. But then, I overhear this guy talkin’ about a festival comin’ up. I’m like, “What festival?” Turns out, it’s the Kozakai-cho Matsuri! I’m pumped! I love festivals! Food, games, and all that good stuff. I’m already thinkin’ about takin’ my combine and makin’ a float or somethin’. So, I head home, exhausted but happy. I’m thinkin’ about how crazy today was. From konbini drama to almost runnin’ over a kid, to helpin’ an old lady, and then finding out about the festival. Kozakai-cho, you never cease to amaze me. I crash on my bed, and I’m like, “What a day!” Can’t wait for tomorrow. Who knows what’ll happen next?
