Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzin’ from all the craziness that went down in Kushima. Like, where do I even start? So, I woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Yeah, it totally betrayed me. I jumped outta bed, threw on whatever I could find. I mean, who needs matching socks, right? Anyway, I bolted outta my tiny apartment on Kōen-dōri, barely remembering to grab my torcador gear. First stop? The Kushima Fish Market. OMG, the smell hit me like a freight train. But, like, in a good way? Fresh seafood everywhere! I was like a kid in a candy store. I snagged some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had. I swear, it was so fresh it was practically still swimming. Then, I decided to stroll down to the Kushima Castle ruins. Man, the history there is wild. I mean, it’s not every day you get to walk where samurais once roamed. I was feelin’ all philosophical, like, “What would a samurai think of my life?” Probably laugh, honestly. But then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. Like, monsoon-level rain. I was soaked in seconds. I ducked into a little café on Shōwa-dōri. The barista was super chill, though. We chatted about the weather, and I ordered a matcha latte. It was like drinking a hug. Seriously, I was feelin’ good again. After that, I thought, “Hey, let’s hit up the Kushima Art Museum.” I’m not even an art person, but wow, the stuff there was mind-blowing. There was this one piece that looked like a giant wave. I stood there, just staring, and thought, “Dude, I could totally get lost in that.” But then, I got a text. My buddy, Taro, was in trouble. Apparently, he tried to impress some girl at the Kushima Park and ended up falling into the pond. Classic Taro, right? I rushed over, dodging puddles like a ninja. When I got there, he was drenched, flailing around like a fish outta water. The girl? She was laughing her head off. I couldn’t help but join in. I mean, who wouldn’t? Taro’s face was priceless. After rescuing him, we hit up a food stall on Nakamura Street. I got some yakitori that was to die for. Taro was still sulking about the girl, but I told him, “Dude, you just made her day! You’re a legend now!” As the sun started to set, we wandered over to the Kushima Bay. The view was insane. The sky was all pink and orange, reflecting off the water. I felt this wave of happiness wash over me. Like, life is good, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, I tripped over a rock. I went down hard. I mean, faceplant city. Taro couldn’t stop laughing. I was like, “Dude, help me up!” But I was laughing too. It was just one of those moments. Finally, we ended the day at a local izakaya. We were sharing stories, eating, and just vibing. I realized, Kushima is more than just a city. It’s a whole experience. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and food. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Kushima, you’ve got my heart!
