Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a stove-maker in Makabe is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local market on Kōen-dōri. You know, the one with all the fresh veggies and fish? I’m just tryna grab some ingredients for my lunch. But nah, the fish guy, Mr. Tanaka, decides today’s the day to haggle like it’s the Olympics. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a mackerel!” But he’s all, “No way, man! This is the freshest catch!” I’m like, “Yeah, fresh enough to swim back to the ocean!” Finally, I get my fish, but then I trip over some random cat. Like, seriously, who lets their cat roam around Kōen-dōri? I’m on the ground, fish flying, and this cat just looks at me like, “You good, bro?” I’m like, “No, I’m not good! I’m a stove-maker, not a cat wrangler!” So, I finally make it back to my workshop on Shōwa-dōri. It’s a cozy little spot, filled with all kinds of stoves. I’ve got the traditional ones, the modern ones, and even a few funky designs that I swear look like they belong in a sci-fi movie. I’m just about to start working when my buddy Hiro calls. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta check out the festival at the park!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m knee-deep in stove parts!” But then he mentions food stalls. I’m like, “Okay, I’m in!” So I throw on my shoes and head out. The streets are packed! I mean, it’s like everyone in Makabe decided to show up. I’m dodging people on Chūō-dōri, trying not to spill my drink. The festival is lit! There’s music, laughter, and the smell of yakitori in the air. I’m munching on skewers, feeling like a king. Then, outta nowhere, I see this old lady selling handmade pottery. I’m like, “Whoa, that’s dope!” I love supporting local artists, so I buy a cute little bowl. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s a message from my supplier. “Sorry, can’t deliver the parts.” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I’m standing there, surrounded by happy people, and I’m about to lose it. I mean, how am I supposed to make stoves without parts? I take a deep breath, try to chill. I mean, it’s just a setback, right? So I grab another yakitori and head back to my workshop. I’m determined to make the best of it. I start tinkering with some old designs, trying to get creative. Then, outta nowhere, my neighbor, Mrs. Sato, pops in. She’s this sweet old lady who always brings me cookies. Today, she’s got a plate of matcha cookies. I’m like, “You’re a lifesaver!” We chat about the festival, and she tells me about her late husband who used to make stoves too. It’s kinda heartwarming, you know? As the sun sets, I’m back at my workbench, feeling inspired. I’m sketching out ideas, and suddenly, I have this wild thought. What if I made a stove that doubles as a grill? I mean, that could be a game-changer! So, I’m pumped, sketching away, when I hear a loud crash outside. I rush out, and there’s a guy who just knocked over a food stall! I’m like, “Dude, what’s wrong with you?” He’s all flustered, trying to pick up the mess. I can’t help but laugh. It’s just one of those days, ya know? Finally, I wrap up my day, feeling exhausted but happy. Makabe is wild, unpredictable, and full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, who else gets to make stoves in a city that’s always buzzing with life? So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Makabe. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
