Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in Marumori, right? This little gem of a town in Japan, surrounded by mountains and rivers. I mean, it’s beautiful, but today? Ugh. First off, I’m a potter, and I had this big order to finish. I’m talking about some serious clay work. I was all set to head to my studio on Kawai Street. But guess what? My bike had a flat tire. Like, really? Just my luck. So, I had to hoof it. Walking down the streets of Marumori, I passed by the local market. The smell of fresh fish and veggies hit me like a brick wall. I swear, I could’ve spent all day just munching on street food. But no, I had pots to make! Finally, I get to my studio, and it’s like a tornado hit. Clay everywhere! I’m talking about a disaster zone. I was so mad. I mean, who leaves their workspace like that? I could’ve sworn my cat, Mochi, was behind it. That little furball has a knack for chaos. So, I start cleaning up, and then BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Kenji. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the Matsukawa River later!” I’m like, “Dude, I can’t. I got work.” But then I thought, “Why not?” I mean, life’s too short, right? I finally get into the groove of making these pots. I’m throwing clay like a pro, feeling all zen. But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. Seriously? I’m in the middle of a masterpiece, and the lights just go poof! I’m standing there, covered in clay, looking like a hot mess. I’m fuming, but then I hear laughter outside. I peek out, and it’s a bunch of kids playing on the street. They’re running around, chasing each other, and I can’t help but smile. It’s like they don’t have a care in the world. I remember being that carefree. After a bit, the power comes back. Thank goodness! I finish up my pots, and they actually turned out pretty good. I’m feeling proud, ya know? But then I realize I’m late for the river hangout. I rush over to Matsukawa River, and it’s gorgeous. The sun’s setting, casting this golden glow over everything. I see Kenji and the crew, and they’re already chilling with drinks. I’m like, “Sorry, guys! Pottery life!” They laugh, and we start goofing around. We end up having this epic water fight. I’m soaked, but it’s the best feeling ever. I forget all about the stress of the day. Just me, my friends, and the river. As the night rolls in, we sit by the water, sharing stories. I’m telling them about my crazy day, and they’re cracking up. It’s moments like these that make everything worth it. So, yeah, Marumori can be a wild ride. From flat tires to power outages, it’s all part of the adventure. But at the end of the day, it’s the people and the little moments that make it special. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. And now, I’m back home, exhausted but happy. Tomorrow’s another day, and I can’t wait to see what it brings. But for now, I’m crashing. Peace out!
