Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a glazier in Matsubushi is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Koshigaya Street for my morning coffee. You know, the one with the weird mascot? Yeah, that one. I grab my usual—iced coffee and a melon pan. But guess what? They’re outta melon pan! Like, seriously? Who runs outta melon pan? I’m standing there, fuming. I mean, c’mon, it’s Matsubushi! Get your act together! So, I settle for a plain old onigiri. Not the same vibe, but whatever. I hop on my bike, zooming down the streets. Matsubushi’s got this charm, ya know? The little shops, the old folks chillin’ at the park, and the kids playing soccer on the side of the road. It’s like a scene from a movie, but then BAM! Reality hits. I get to my first job at this fancy new apartment complex on Sakae Street. The client’s all hyped about these huge glass windows. I’m like, “Sure, let’s make it happen.” But then, I realize I forgot my suction cups. Like, how do you forget suction cups? I’m standing there, ready to lose it. I mean, what’s a glazier without his tools? A sad, glassless dude, that’s what. I rush back to my workshop, dodging pedestrians and stray cats. Matsubushi’s got a ton of those. They just stare at you like they own the place. I swear, one of ‘em gave me the side-eye. Anyway, I grab the cups and head back. The client’s tapping his foot, looking at me like I’m the worst glazier ever. I’m sweating bullets, but I play it cool. “Just a little delay, no biggie!” Finally, we get the windows up. And wow, they look amazing! The sunlight hits just right, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, outta nowhere, a freakin’ pigeon decides to take a dump on one of the windows. I’m like, “Really? You couldn’t pick a better spot?” The client bursts out laughing, and I’m just standing there, mortified. After that, I head over to Matsubushi Park. Needed a breather, ya know? I sit on a bench, watching the cherry blossoms. They’re in full bloom, and it’s beautiful. I’m thinking, “Life’s not so bad.” But then, I see this kid running with a kite, and he trips. The kite goes flying, and I’m like, “Oh no, not the kite!” But he gets up, laughing. Kids are resilient, man. Makes me think about how we all need to just roll with it sometimes. Next job’s at a café on Takamatsu Street. The owner wants a glass partition. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Turns out, the measurements were off. I’m measuring, re-measuring, and I’m just about to lose it. I’m like, “Dude, how hard is it to measure?” But the owner’s super chill, offering me matcha lattes. I can’t be mad when there’s matcha involved. Finally, I wrap up the day. I’m exhausted but happy. Matsubushi’s got this vibe that just sticks with you. The streets are alive, the people are friendly, and even the pigeons have character. I bike home, thinking about all the craziness. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just gotta keep your head up and your glass clean. Cheers to Matsubushi!
