Man, what a day! I woke up in Miki, Japan, and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets of Miki, right? I’m walking down the main drag, Kōen-dōri, and it’s like a scene from a movie. Cherry blossoms everywhere! But then, bam! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? Thanks, nature. So, I’m trying to shake it off, right? I head over to the Miki City Museum. Thought I’d get some culture. But guess what? It’s closed for renovations. Ugh! I mean, who renovates on a Tuesday? I’m like, “C’mon, people!” Next, I decide to grab some grub. Hit up this little ramen joint on Sakae Street. Best decision ever! The ramen was so good, I almost cried. I mean, I’m slurping away, and this old dude next to me starts chatting. He’s all like, “You know, ramen is life.” I’m nodding, like, “Yeah, bro, I get it.” But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs in, trips, and spills his drink all over my shoes. I’m like, “Dude, really?” But he looks up at me with these big eyes, and I can’t even be mad. I just laugh it off. Kids, man. After that, I stroll down to the Miki Castle ruins. It’s a bit of a hike, but the view is worth it. I’m standing there, taking it all in, and I think, “Wow, this place has history.” But then, I see a group of tourists taking selfies. Like, c’mon! You’re in front of a castle, not a theme park! Then, I get a text from my boss. “Need those reports ASAP.” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Miki!” But I can’t ignore it. So, I find a café on Hōjō Street, and I’m trying to work. But the Wi-Fi is slower than a snail on a lazy day. I’m losing my mind! Finally, I decide to call it a day. I’m walking back, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the shamisen, and it’s beautiful. I stop, and for a moment, everything feels right. I toss him some yen, and he gives me a nod. But then, I step in a puddle. My shoes are soaked. I’m like, “Really, Miki? You’re gonna do me like that?” As I head home, I can’t help but laugh. This city is wild. It’s got its quirks, for sure. But that’s what makes it special. I mean, who else can say they got pooped on by a pigeon, spilled on by a kid, and serenaded by a shamisen player all in one day? So yeah, Miki, you’re a trip. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
