Yo, lemme tell ya about my day in Minabe. Man, it was a wild ride! So, I woke up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Minabe’s main street, Naka-dori. Grabbed some onigiri. You know, the good stuff. But guess what? They were outta my fave flavor! Ugh, I was so mad. Like, how do you run outta tuna mayo? It’s a classic! Then, I decided to stroll down to the Minabe River. It’s super pretty there, with cherry blossoms and all. But, like, I’m walkin’ and suddenly, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Seriously?! I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” I laughed it off, but inside, I was fuming. After that, I hit up the Minabe Fruit Park. OMG, the fruits there are insane! I tried some fresh strawberries. They were so sweet, I thought I was in heaven. But then, I saw this kid, like, totally hogging the best ones. I was ready to throw down. Like, dude, share the love! So, I’m chillin’ at the park, and I see this old lady selling yakiimo. You know, roasted sweet potatoes? I’m like, “Yes, please!” But she only had one left. I was like, “C’mon, lady, I need this!” She laughed and gave it to me. Bless her heart! Then, I decided to check out the Minabe Shrine. It’s got this vibe, ya know? Super peaceful. I’m there, trying to meditate, but my phone keeps buzzing. It’s my buddy, texting me about some drama. I’m like, “Dude, I’m trying to zen out here!” After that, I wandered over to the local market on Shimo-dori. It’s packed with all these stalls. I’m lookin’ for souvenirs, but everything’s so cute, I can’t decide! I ended up buying a bunch of random stuff. Like, who needs a mini samurai sword? Not me, but I got it anyway. Then, the craziest thing happened. I bumped into this guy who was dressed as a ninja. No joke! He was doing some kinda street performance. I was like, “Is this for real?” He starts flipping around, and I’m just standing there, mouth agape. I mean, who knew Minabe had ninjas? As the sun started to set, I headed back to Naka-dori. The lights were all twinkling, and it felt magical. I grabbed some dinner at this little izakaya. The food was bomb! I had some yakitori that was so good, I almost cried. But then, I realized I lost my wallet. Panic mode activated! I’m tearing through my bag, sweating bullets. I’m like, “No way, not today!” I retraced my steps, and guess what? It was at the fruit park! Phew! Finally, I made it back home, exhausted but happy. Minabe, you crazy little town, you gave me a day to remember. I laughed, I cried, I almost fought a kid over strawberries. What a ride! Can’t wait to do it all again.
