Man, today was a wild ride in Morioka! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up, right? Sun shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Nakajima-dori. Gotta love those onigiri! I grabbed a salmon one, my fave. But then, bam! I spill soy sauce all over my shirt. Great start, huh? I’m standing there, looking like a total mess, and the cashier just smirks. Ugh, whatever. So, I head to the Morioka Castle Ruins. Beautiful spot, right? But it’s packed with tourists. I mean, c’mon, it’s a Tuesday! I’m trying to snap a pic of the cherry blossoms, and this kid runs right in front of me. Like, dude, I’m not trying to capture your awkward pose! I’m here for the sakura, not your Instagram moment. Then, I decide to chill at the Iwate Park. It’s peaceful, ya know? But then I see this group of kids playing soccer. They’re loud, like, really loud. I’m trying to meditate or whatever, and they’re just kicking the ball everywhere. One kid kicks it right at me! I’m like, “Bro, I’m not your goalie!” But I laugh it off. Kids are funny, I guess. After that, I stroll down to the Morioka Handi-Works Square. I’m all about supporting local artisans. I find this cool pottery shop. The owner, this sweet old lady, shows me how to make a cup. I’m all in, right? But then I drop the clay. It splatters everywhere! I’m covered in mud, and she’s just laughing. I’m like, “Great, now I’m a walking art piece.” Next, I hit up the famous Morioka Jajamen place on Nakanohashi-dori. If you haven’t had Jajamen, you’re missing out! It’s like udon but with a twist. I order a bowl, and it’s massive. I’m digging in, and it’s so good. But then, I realize I’m wearing my soy-sauce-stained shirt. Classy, right? Then, the craziest thing happens. I’m walking back, and I see this street performer on the corner of Odori. He’s juggling, and I’m like, “Okay, cool.” But then he drops a flaming baton! Fire everywhere! I’m freaking out, thinking, “Is this how I die in Morioka?” But he just laughs it off and keeps going. I mean, talk about dedication! As the sun sets, I decide to chill by the Kitakami River. It’s beautiful, the lights reflecting off the water. I’m finally relaxing, right? But then, my phone buzzes. It’s work. Ugh, can’t a community manager catch a break? I’m like, “Guys, I’m in the middle of a life crisis here!” Finally, I head home, exhausted. I’m thinking about all the craziness. Morioka is wild, man. It’s got this vibe, you know? The mix of tradition and modern life. I love it, even when it drives me nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Full of spills, thrills, and a bit of chaos. But hey, that’s life in Morioka! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
