Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Nagawa really knows how to throw a curveball. Woke up this mornin’ feelin’ like a million bucks, ready to tackle some carpentry work. You know, just me, my tools, and a whole lotta wood. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit up the local coffee shop on Chuo-dori. Best coffee in town, no joke. I’m sippin’ my brew, thinkin’ about the day ahead, when BAM! This dude spills his drink all over my work boots. Like, c’mon man! I’m tryin’ to start my day right here! I just laughed it off, though. Gotta keep it chill, right? So, I head over to my job site on Takamatsu Street. It’s a small reno project, just some cabinets and shelves. Easy peasy. But when I get there, I find out the client changed the plans. Like, seriously? I’m not a mind reader! Now I gotta figure out how to make this work. I’m scratchin’ my head, thinkin’ about how to make it all fit. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady walks by. She’s like, “Hey, you’re a carpenter, right?” I’m like, “Yeah, that’s me!” She starts ramblin’ about how her house is falling apart. I mean, I get it, but lady, I’m on the clock! But she’s persistent, and I can’t help but feel bad. So, I give her my card. Maybe I’ll regret that later, but whatever. Back to the job. I’m cuttin’ wood, makin’ sawdust fly everywhere. It’s like a mini snowstorm in there. I’m in my zone, but then I hear this loud crash. I whip around, and some guy just knocked over a stack of plywood. I’m like, “Dude, what are you doin’?” He just shrugs and walks away. I mean, really? Finally, I get the cabinets up, and they look sick! I’m feelin’ proud, ya know? But then I realize I forgot to bring the handles. Ugh! I could’ve screamed. So, I hop on my bike and pedal down to the hardware store on Kōen-dōri. It’s a bit of a ride, but I need those handles. On the way, I pass by the Nagawa River. It’s so peaceful there. I stop for a sec, just takin’ it all in. The cherry blossoms are still hangin’ on, and it’s like a scene from a movie. I snap a quick pic for the ‘gram. Gotta show off, right? Finally, I get to the store, grab the handles, and race back. I’m sweatin’ like crazy, but I’m determined. I get back to the site, and guess what? The client’s there, and she’s all smiles. She loves the cabinets! I’m like, “Phew, thank goodness!” But then, just when I think it’s smooth sailing, I trip over my own feet. I go down hard, and the handles fly outta my hands. They land right in a puddle. I’m just layin’ there, laughin’ at myself. What a day, right? By the time I wrap up, it’s dark. I’m exhausted but happy. I ride home through the streets of Nagawa, feelin’ the night air. It’s a small city, but it’s got heart. I love it here. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, I guess. Just gotta roll with the punches and keep buildin’.
