Man, what a day in Naie! I swear, I’m still buzzin’ from all the craziness. So, I’m the Watchman, right? Just chillin’ on my usual corner at the intersection of Kōen-dōri and Shōwa Street. You know, the spot where all the action happens. First off, it was like, super early. The sun was barely up, and I was already sippin’ on my third cup of coffee. I mean, who needs sleep when you got the streets of Naie to watch? But then, bam! Outta nowhere, this dude runs past me, trippin’ over his own feet. I’m talkin’ full-on cartoon style. I couldn’t help but laugh. Like, bro, you okay? Then, I see this little kid, right? He’s tryin’ to sell some homemade lemonade. I’m like, “Kid, it’s 8 AM!” But he’s all about that hustle. I respect it. So, I buy a cup. It’s like, the worst lemonade ever. Tasted like he mixed dirt with water. But hey, I’m supportin’ local business, right? Later, I’m just mindin’ my own business when I hear this loud commotion down at the Naie River. I rush over, and there’s a whole crowd gathered. Turns out, some guy’s tryin’ to fish out a giant inflatable duck. Like, who even brings that to the river? I’m thinkin’, “Dude, you’re not gonna catch anything with that!” But the crowd’s lovin’ it. They’re takin’ pics, laughin’, and I’m just standin’ there, shakin’ my head. Then, I get a call from my buddy Kenji. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta come to the Matsuri at Kōen Park!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m on duty!” But he’s persistent. So, I’m like, fine, I’ll swing by. When I get there, it’s a whole vibe. Lanterns everywhere, food stalls, and people dressed in yukatas. I’m feelin’ the energy. I grab some takoyaki, and man, it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munchin’ away when I see this girl. She’s got the brightest smile, and I’m like, “Wow, she’s cute.” But then, I trip over my own feet. Classic me, right? After that embarrassing moment, I decide to head back to my post. But on the way, I pass by the old shrine on Takamatsu Street. It’s peaceful there, you know? I take a moment to breathe. Just me and the cherry blossoms. But then, I hear this loud honking. A car’s tryin’ to squeeze through, and I’m like, “Dude, chill! It’s a shrine, not a racetrack!” As the day goes on, I’m feelin’ a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised. It’s like Naie’s got a personality of its own. I see the old lady from the bakery on Hōjō Street. She’s always got the best pastries. I wave, and she gives me a nod. It’s those little moments that make it all worth it. But then, I see a couple of punks spray-painting a wall. I’m like, “Seriously? This is Naie, not some rundown alley!” I march over, ready to give ‘em a piece of my mind. But they just laugh and run off. I’m left there, fuming. Like, come on, respect the city! Finally, as the sun sets, I’m back at my corner. The lights of Naie start to twinkle, and it’s beautiful. I take a deep breath, and I’m grateful. This city, with all its quirks and chaos, it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Naie. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
