Man, what a day! Seriously, Nayoro is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, but nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kiyokawa Street. You know, the one with the best onigiri? Grabbed a couple for breakfast. I mean, who can resist those? Not me, that’s for sure. So, I’m munching on my onigiri, feeling all zen, when I hear this loud commotion outside. I peek out, and there’s a bunch of kids playing soccer in the middle of the street! Like, c’mon, guys, this is not a pitch! But they were having a blast, so I just laughed it off. Kids, right? They don’t care about rules. Then, I decided to stroll down to the Nayoro River. It’s so pretty there, especially in the morning light. I was just vibing, listening to the water flow, when BAM! A giant crow swoops down and snatches my onigiri! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I mean, I know crows are smart, but this was next level. I was mad, but also kinda impressed. After that, I needed a pick-me-up. So, I hit up this little café on Chuo Street. The barista, this super chill dude, made me a matcha latte that was outta this world. I swear, it was like drinking a hug. I sat there, sipping my latte, and just people-watching. There was this old man feeding the pigeons, and I thought, “Man, I wanna be that chill when I’m old.” But then, outta nowhere, it started pouring! Like, monsoon-level rain. I dashed outta the café, but I was already soaked. I mean, I looked like a drowned rat. I tried to run to the nearest bus stop, but of course, I slipped on the wet pavement on Kiyokawa again. Classic me, right? I was laughing and cursing at the same time. Finally, I made it to the bus stop, and guess what? The bus was late. Of course! I was standing there, dripping wet, and this lady next to me starts chatting. She was super nice, though, and we ended up talking about everything—Nayoro’s history, the best places to eat, and how the cherry blossoms are the bomb in spring. I was like, “Yeah, I need to see that!” When the bus finally rolled up, I was so relieved. I hopped on, and it was packed. I squeezed in next to this guy who was blasting music on his phone. I mean, come on, dude! We’re all trying to chill here. But then, he started singing along, and it was so bad that I couldn’t help but laugh. Like, who gave this guy a mic? We finally got to the Nayoro City Hall area, and I was ready to explore. I wandered around, checking out the local shops. There’s this place on Sakae Street that sells the cutest handmade crafts. I picked up a little ceramic cat. It’s adorable! I named it Neko-chan. As the day wound down, I found myself at the Nayoro Park. The sunset was insane. I mean, the sky was on fire! I sat on a bench, just soaking it all in. I thought about how crazy the day was. From crows stealing my food to random chats with strangers, it was a rollercoaster. I headed home, feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, mad, surprised—just a mix of everything. Nayoro, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
