Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a lumberjack in Nishio is wild. Like, I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, life had other plans. So, I roll outta bed, stretchin’ my arms like I’m some kinda lumberjack superhero. Grabbed my coffee from this tiny joint on Kōen-dōri. Best coffee ever, I swear! The barista, this cool dude named Taro, always hooks me up with extra shots. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not tryin’ to fly today!” But he just laughs. Anyway, I head to the woods, right? Just me, my axe, and the trees. But then, BAM! I get a call from my buddy Kenji. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta come to Nishio Castle!” I’m thinkin’, “Castle? In Nishio? What’s next, dragons?” But I’m curious, so I head over. Nishio Castle is dope, man. It’s got this old-school vibe, like samurai could pop outta nowhere. I’m walkin’ around, and I see this group of tourists takin’ selfies. I’m like, “Hey, I’m a lumberjack! Can I get in on that?” They look at me like I’m nuts. Whatever, I’m used to it. Then, I’m strollin’ down Nishio’s streets, and I hit up the Nishio City Museum. They got this exhibit on matcha. I’m like, “Matcha? Really?” But lemme tell ya, I learned more about tea than I ever thought I would. Who knew it was such a big deal? I mean, I just drink it to wake up, not to become a tea connoisseur. But here’s where it gets crazy. I’m leavin’ the museum, and I trip over this uneven sidewalk on Kōen-dōri. I’m like, “Seriously? Who’s in charge of this place?” I’m mad, but then I see this cute little shop called Nishio Yaki. They sell these amazing yaki (grilled) snacks. I forget my anger and grab a couple. Best decision ever! So, I’m munchin’ on my snacks, and I bump into this old lady. She’s like, “You’re a lumberjack, huh? You must be strong!” I’m like, “Yeah, I lift trees, no biggie.” But inside, I’m feelin’ all proud. Then, I decide to hit up the Nishio Flower Park. Man, the flowers are poppin’! I’m talkin’ colors everywhere. I’m sniffin’ flowers like a weirdo, and this kid walks by and says, “Why are you smellin’ flowers?” I’m like, “Cuz I’m a lumberjack, and I appreciate nature, kid!” He just stares at me like I’m from another planet. As the sun starts settlin’, I’m walkin’ back, and I see this street performer on Nakamura Street. He’s playin’ the shamisen, and it’s beautiful. I’m standin’ there, just vibin’. I toss him some yen, and he gives me a nod. It’s like, in that moment, all the craziness of the day just melts away. But then, I get a text from Kenji. “Dude, you gotta come to the izakaya later!” I’m like, “I just had a long day!” But who can resist good food and drinks? So, I head over to this izakaya on Kōen-dōri. I walk in, and it’s packed. I squeeze my way to the bar, and Kenji’s there, grinnin’ like a fool. We order a bunch of stuff—sake, grilled fish, and some weird-looking tofu. I’m like, “What even is this?” But it’s surprisingly good. We’re laughin’, tellin’ stories, and I’m feelin’ all warm inside. Then, outta nowhere, the lights flicker. I’m thinkin’, “Great, now we’re gonna get haunted!” But it’s just a power outage. Everyone’s chillin’, and we start singin’ random songs. It’s hilarious! Finally, I stumble home, thinkin’ about how wild today was. From coffee to castles to flowers and food, Nishio’s got it all. I’m exhausted but happy. Tomorrow, I’ll be back in the woods, but today? Today was epic.
